Phone 887-6677 One of the best bargains around on a hot and sticky day was the Freshie that entrepreneurs Valerie Collins, 8, [left] and her sister Colleen, 10, was selling on the main street on Walton last Saturday. By 10 a.m. the girls had already made a profit of more than $2. The Walton Area Sports Club held their August meeting Thurs­ day evening, July 30 at the library. Plans were made for the Bantam Boys Tournament to be held this weekend August8-9withtheir first game Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and for the Squirt Tournament the following weekend August 14-15. A bake sale was discussed and will be held September 4 from 5 - 8 p.m. and September 5, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the librarv. Donations will be accepted from ball players’ families and any other interested people in the community. Next meeting is scheduled for September 1 at 8 p.m. at the home of Betty McCallum. On Saturday, July 25, Mr. and Mrs. Murray Crawford attended the wedding of their niece Laurie Michelle Simpson and Paul Barry Smith. Both bride and groom are from the St. Mary’s area, the weddingwasheldintheSt. Mary’s Presbyterian Church. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Conley spent an enjoyable weekend at Craigleith Provincial Park. Garnet Starr, Chatham, was a weekend visitor with Mr. and Mrs. Don Cotton. Mrs. Lloyd Smith, daughters Joan and Sharon Rapson and granddaughter’s Becky and Alli­ son spent several days the past week at Windmill Camp, Fuller­ ton.
