Initiated in 1971, the Home Care Program is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and administered by the Huron County Health Unit from an office at Huronview, near Clinton. Betty Cardno of Seaforth is the divertor and chief administrative officer of the program. Home Care is the administrative and co-ordinative component of a program which delivers both professional health care and other services directly to clients’ homes within the county, with the aim of keeping people, who must otherwise be hospitalized or institutionalized because of old age, ill health or other handicaps, in the comfort of their own homes for as long as possible. In order to be eligible for the program, clients must: •be covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) •be under the care of a medical doctor, and have a medical condition that can be adequately treated at home •have needs tl^at cannot be met in an out-patient basis •be in need of at least one professional service, such as nursing or therapy •live in a home where treatment can be given •have a family who is willing and able to participate in the program •require professional treatment which is reasonably expected to result in progress toward goals, or in the delay or prevention of the deterioration of the client’s medical condition •live in the area covered by Home Care Prospective clients for the Home Care Program must be ------------------------------------------- \ Radford Truck Repair A Division of CONSTRUCTION L Limited Blyth FOR APPOINTMENTS CALL: 523-9681 or If busy: 523-4581\J
