A guide to
your community
Despite the impression sometimes given by urban media
that Huron County is some kind of backwoods, we are really
blessed with a wide range of services to help us in times of
crisis, or just when we want to go out and have a good time.
The difficulty is sometimes finding out just what is
available to help us. There are dozens of agencies to help
people from the disabled to the elderly.
The purpose of this guide is to make these services more
accessible to the people. Our Staff at The Citizen has put in
many hours trying to collect correct information and
telephone numbers. We know, given the size of the task,
we’re bound to have left something out that should have
been included and perhaps made errors in places. Since this
is planned as an annual service, we’d appreciate readers
letting us know if we’ve made errors and your suggestions on
how to improve the guide. Last year, for instance, someone
suggested a list ofthe names of local clubs and organizations
and their presidents would be helpful so we have added a list
this year.
If you have suggestions or corrections we’d appreciate
receiving them in writing so we won’t make mistakes again.
Keith Roulston.
