Who is that masked man? Looking cool despite wearing a balaclava, this hooded character visited the
Blyth Festival’s Country Fair to take pot shots at stage manager Hilary Blackmore in the dunk tank. Later
the stranger, who sounded suspiciously like actor Peter Smith took a chance to cool off by sitting in the
dunk tank himself.
Festival's Country Fair
raises $1400 for building
The building fund of the Blyth
Festival is $1,400 richer after
another successful Country Fair on
the lawn of Blyth Memorial Hall on
Saturday.
Marian Doucette, Festival
President, said the biggest money
maker at the annual fair was the
dunk tank where people paid $1
each for thrccchancestodunka
favourite member of the Festival
company. As well, the used
clothing table brought in over $200
as did the souvenir sales area. The
“cake-walk” brought in $194.
Ms. Doucette said the income
from the event was average or a
little above average, especially
considering that the crowd seemed
to be down a bit this year. The
presence of so many activities for
children seemed to add to the
festive atmosphere, she said.
Convenor for the project is board
member Carrie Salisbury.
