Morris relaxes 'condition' Murray, Bruce and Ken Fischer of RR 3, Brussels, have been given special consideration by Morris Township Council which will en able them to keep a barn standing on Lot 26, North part of Concession 6, if they decide to purchase the property. The three men had requested the removal of a condition on the property severance consent that would have seen the barn demo lished before severance was grant ed. But after assurance from township building inspector Leo Sanders that the barn was no longer equipped to contain live stock, and that the property had been adequately cleaned up, coun cil passed a motion on June 29 to permit the amended severance, and to authorize that an agreement be drawn up with the Fischers which would restrict any other livestock operation on the proper ty- At the same meeting, Dave Wallace of Champion Road Grad ers of Goderich and Dave McCal lum of Crothers Limited of London were in attendance to make presentationson behalf oftheir companies for the new township grader. Council reviewed the graderspecificationforms, and will review the final tender forms on July 2. Council discussed sidewalks that are in disrepair in both Belgraveand Walton. Noaction was taken, and the subject will be again considered at a later meet ing. Council passed a motion that an eight inch storm sewer be installed on Hamilton Street in Belgrave, between John and McRae Streets, to drain adjacent properties. Coun cillor Bob Grasby declared a pecuniary interest in the matter, and did not take part in the discussion. Council also agreed to meet in Brussels prior to the village’s Homecoming Parade on July 4. All councillors and staff will appear on a Morris Township float to be drawn by a team of horses owned and driven by Ken Shortreed of RR 3, Walton.
