Letters
A job well
THE EDITOR;
May we use your letter space to
convey our pride and pleasure in
the Residents of the Village of
Brussels. This past weekend re
vealed feelings often hidden here -
joy of celebration, love of neigh
bour and pride in the accomplish
ments of others. The mood of the
entire weekend was bouyant -
laughter, chatter and welcome
smiles. A true Homecoming.
To each person participating in
the Homecoming - Thank You.

The family of Mr. and Mrs.
Ralph Pearson entertained them

London.
The family also held a night for
Ralph on Friday night, as he has
retired from driving a school bus
after years on the road. You will be
greatly missed Ralph, but hope you

Homecoming was fun
THE EDITOR:
It is early Monday morning and I
imagine there are a great many
people in the Village of Brussels
who are very tired.
These are the people who
organized and then worked so hard
to make the 115th Homecoming
such a success. What fun it was to
see such active participation and
attendance at the many events and
activities.
Whatfunitwasto have such a
wonderful parade, to see families
and friends enjoying themselves
on their front lawns and people
walking down Turnberry Street
looking at the photographs in the
store windows and reminiscing
and renewing acquaintances. The
dances, the fish fry, the beef
B.B.Q., the church services and
the breakfasts were so well
attended and the Mill was also a
popular spot.
The sporting activities organiz
ed for young and adults by the
Optimist Club with a great bathtub
race also added so much to the
weekend. Thanks on behalf of the
community to all you tired folk for a
most memorable, enjoyable home-
coming and family and friends
weekend. That’s one of the reasons
Brussels is a great place to live.
