Woodmans Lane in Londesboro to Trueman Street, eliminating the confusion of having two names for different parts of the same street. Plans for the re-construction of two blocks of Elizabeth Street and of the southern blocks of both Sarah and Silver Street were accepted from the engineering firm of Burns, Ross & Associates, tenders will be invited for the excavation and application of a granular base of these streets. A public meeting has been planned as part of the regular council meeting on June 16, at which Londesboro residents affec­ ted by the street construction may discuss the matter with their elected officials. At the same meeting, a by-law was passed to change the name of McKillop plan goes to press McKillop township residents will shortly be getting a copy of the draft zoning by-law for the town­ ship after township council passed a motion, J une 2, to have the Huron County Planning and Develop­ ment Department prepare the by-law for printing and circulation. Residents will have a chance to have their questions and concerns answered by council at a public meeting scheduled for August 19 and 20. In other business, council pass­ ed a by-law authorizing an increase in the rates paid to its animal control officer. The tender of George Radford ConstructionLtd.,thelowestof . four tenders received, was accept­ ed for the reconstruction of Concession Rd. 10-11, lots 26 to 30 and sideroad 30-31 from Conces­ sion 7 to Concession 10. The contractcallsforthesupply and hauling of 22,000 cu. yds. of shouldering material, 35,000 cu. yds. of pit run “B’’ gravel and 11,000 cu. yds. of “A” gravel. Total price for the gravel was $84,200. A new municipal insurance program fromthe Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) will save the township nearly $l,500in insurance costs this year. The road accounts of $130,555.97 and general accounts of $320,867.38 were approved for payment. William Siemon reported to council he had inspected the Higgerson-Ryan Municipal Drain on the property of Harry Arts after Mr. Arts had said he was not satisfied with the amount of excavated material left on the ditch bank. Mr. Arts had requested the ditch back be re-graded. Mr. Siemon reported that the work had been completed according to the report. Council accepted the 1986 finan­ cial statement from the Blyth and District Fire Area Board. The statement of revenue and expendi­ ture of the Seaforth Area Fire Department was reviewed by council. A special by-law was passed to amend the council’s procedural by-law and allow for the holding of the council J uly meeting on June 30 instead of the regular July 7 date. The Best Meat to Eat!
