Entertainment WINGHAMNew Chislett play opens in Pt Dover The newest play from Huron County’s award-winning play­ wright Anne Chislett opens the 1987 season of the Lighthouse Festival in Port Dover, Tuesday, June 16. “Half a Chance” is Ms. Chis- lett’sfifth play. Council made a commitment to the Ministry of Transportation to spend $225,000 on the tenth line bridge provided that construction started on the bridge this year. This commitment would be spread over two years. The next council meeting is set for June 29. in the Land”, premiered at the Blyth Festival in 1981, won both the Governor General’s Award for Drama and the Chalmer’s Cana­ dian Play Award. “Half a Chance” is a satirical and touching look at the changes that have occurred since the 1960’s. Harry Peterson (played by Robin Marshall) is a sixties activist-turned-garage mechanic who decides to resurrect the peace movement in order to save his daughter (played by Sherry Smith) and maybe at the same time, save the world. Director for the production is James Roy who recently served as Artist-in-Residence at the Univer­ sity of Guelph. He has been Artistic Director at the Manitoba Theatre Centre and the Belfry Theatre in Victoria, B.C., and he was the founder and first artistic director of the Blyth Summer Festival. He is a respected Director and has direct­ ed many new Canadian plays. “Half a Chance” appeals to all ages, but especially to those over 40 who are offered an opportunity tosharealittle nostalgia for the days of wheatgerm and Wood- stock. Other cast members include: Brian Hartt, Patricia Oatman, and Cathy O’Connel.
