McLELLAN Florence McLellan, of Listowei, and formerly of Brussels and Milverton area died June 2,1987 at Listowei Memorial Hospital. She was 83 years of age. She was born in Mornington Township on May 21, 1904, the daughter of the late John J. Mayberry and Minnie Woods. She married Alvin C. McLellan on Nov. 23, 1920 in Mornington Township. He predeceased her in March of this year. She resided in the Milverton area and in Brussels before moving to Listowei in 1971 where she was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church and a mem- Alice Firby dies in London ALICE MAUDE HRB Y Alice Maude Firby of the Extendicare Nursing Home, Lon­ don, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 1987 at Victoria Hospital, London. She was the daughter of the late William Lucas and Alice Parker and the wife of the late Harry T. Firby and mother of Betty, Mrs. H.F. Calvert, R.R. 4, Aylmer and ber of the women’s organization of the church. Former Brussels resident dies JIM RITCHIE James (Jim) Ritchie, 70, of 305 Albert St., Stratford, died Friday, May 22, 1987 at the Stratford General Hospital. Born at Brussels, he was a son of the late James Thomas Ritchie and the former Laura Mae Oster and had been a Stratford resident since 1930. He was a blacksmith by trade, operating a blacksmith shop on Huron St. for many years and was Richard Firby of Paris. She was the sister of Laura Lucas of Brussels. Also surviving are 11 grandchild­ ren and 9 greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by one son, David Francis Firby, two brothers, Fred and Luke and three grandsons. The funeral service took place Wednesday, June 3 at the Memor­ ial Funeral Home, London with Rev. D. Irvine officiating. Inter­ ment was in Woodland cemetery. She is survived by one son, Clement McLellan, and his wife the last blacksmith in Stratford. He had been the blacksmith at the Western Fair Raceway until his retirement in 1981, a position now occupied by his son. He served overseas during the Second World War for four years with theCanadian Army RCOC. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Stratford. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Margaret Young; one son Robert, of 305 Albert St., one daughter Jane and husband John Abra, of Toronto; and three grandchildren, Jim, Mark and Mary Abra. Friends were received at the W.G. Young funeral home, 430 Huron St., Stratford before the funeral service on Monday, Dr. David Thompson officiated. Burial was in Avondale cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Stratford General Hospital build­ ing fund or the Canadian Cancer Society. Edna of RR 4, Brussels and one daughter Marion, Mrs. Mervyn Kritizer of Listowei. A sister; Emily, Mrs. Percy Ansty of Scarborough and several nieces and nephews as well as nine grandchildren and 14 great-grand­ children also survive. She was predeceased by twobrothers, Earl and Edison and one granddaugh­ ter, Kathleen. The funeral service took place June 4, 1987 at the Robert Trench Funeral Home, Listowei with Rev. Vern Tozer conducting the service.
