Letters RNA's nurses too THE EDITOR, As I was reading the June 3 issue of The Citizen regarding the CHSS program for mature students, I found a misconception of the general public regarding, R.N.A.’s. I quote “another stu dent entered the course thinking about becoming a Registered Nursing Assistant but now is thinking about becoming a full- fledged nurse.” I am an RNA and proud to be one and I think the public should know thatwe are full-fledged nurses. We are regulated by the college of nurses and responsible for our own actions just like the Registered Nurse. We work under the direction of the RN but we are the nurses you meetmostoftenatthebedside. We helpyou with the things you are unable to do for yourself e.g. (assistwith bath and walking to bathroom.) Congratulations to the students in the above mentioned pro gramme. But please remember an RNA is a professional. Yours sincerely, BRENDA COOK BLYTH.
