met in the Blyth United Church on
June 4.
Citizenship and Legislation Con
venor Evalena Webster, assisted
by Irene Schultz was in charge of
the meeting. Guest speaker was
Helen Grubb, clerk-treasurer of
Blyth who gave a very informative
and interesting address on govern
ment. There is a two-tier govern
ment-county level and village or
twp. level. Mrs. Grubb is also
treasurer, and tax collector for the
village and secretary-treasurer for
P.U.C. As Clerk she is also the
liason person from Council to
ratepayer. The local government is
the most accessible of all levels of
government. It is important that
everyone be interested in the local
government.
