Action takes place every Monday and Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. and new bowlers are welcome to come out and join up. Mr. and Mrs. Jakob Bietz of Goderich visited with Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Snell on Saturday. The annual Decoration Day Service at the Blyth Union Ceme­ tery will be held by the Blyth Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion on June 14 at 2 p.m. A euchre party was held at the Blyth Legion Saturday night, sponsored by the Diamond Jubilee Committee of the Royal Canadian Legion and Ladies Auxiliary, Branch 420. June Fothergill had thehighscorefor theladies and CliffHoegyforthemen. Shirley Giousher and Edythe Giousher (playing as man) had the low scores. Ruth Doherty and Ross Brighton had the most lone hands. Fred Hunter won the door prize and Ruth Doherty won a grocery basket. Marie Toll, RR 3, Blyth had an unfortunate accident at a London shopping mall Thursday and suff­ ered a broken knee cap. After undergoing surgery in St. Joseph’s Hospital on Friday she was kept in hospital for observation. She’s expected to be allowed home this weekend. PITCH IN DAY by Chrystal Cucksey Although it looked as if the students of Blyth Public School were on the loose in the village last Tuesday afternoon, they were actually working very hard to improve the environment. They were involved in a Pitch-In cam­ paign sponsored by the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hun­ ters, and Sunoco Inc. The sponsors provided the large plastic bags and Mrs. Kolkman divided the town into sections. Each section was assigned to a particular grade. When the event was over, 582 lb. of garbage had been gathered by students and teachers. ROBERT MUNSCH DRAMA by Stephanie Lentz On May 13,14 and 15, Stephanie Lentz, Amber Gelwicks and Jason Elliott were involved in a Drama Workshop at Clinton Public School. Seaforth, Hullett Central, Vana- stra and Blyth participated. The kids each had a teacher come from their own school to “help out’’. The instructor Mr. Warren Robinson, Drama Consultant for the Huron Board, introduced the book of Robert Munsch, (a very famous children’s author) to the group. In the end the children presented a 45-minute show com­ bining five of the Robert Munsch books along with the new acting techniques that they learned dur­ ing the workshop. The presentation was seen by the students of three of the schools visitors. Refreshments will be served. All seniors are welcome, involved.
