The Citizen, 1987-05-13, Page 32PAGE 32. THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, MAY 13, 1987. Sheila Rintoul will feature both Canadian art and green plants in The Green Gallery, opening this Saturday. Green Gallery offers plants and artwork in one store A classy new business will soon be added to Bly th’s main street, with the official opening of The Green Gallery planned for this Saturday. Operated by Sheila Rintoul of Wingham, the Gallery features both fine artwork and real and artifical green plants, a combina tion which go together well in today’s emphasis in interior decor ating. An artist herself, although she claims noformal training, Mrs. Rintoul will sell her own original paintings through the shop, as well as featuring original works of other local artists. The Gallery will also carry some original works and limited-edition prints by well- known Canadian artists, and will offer a complete framing and matting service to complement the artwork. As well, Mrs. Rintoul will carry a line of fine giftware such as brass items and glassware. The ‘green’ in the name comes from the collection of large, green plants also available, in both fresh and silk varieties, and in all sizes from desk-top to floor models. For many of the articial plants, only a touch can tell them from the real thing. Mrs. Rintoul has worked as a designer and salesperson at the Flower Nook in Wingham for the last eightyears, but finally decided the time had come for her to branch out on her own, hoping among other things that she would find more timefor her own painting, which she hopes to do right in the shop between customers. In choosing to establish her first businessventureinBlyth, Mrs. Rintoul said that she felt there was a need in the area for the services she offers. As well, the ideal location was available in the building formerly occupied by The Kitchen Cupboard, premises which have been completely re modelled and redecorated for the weekend opening. WESTON RASPBERRY OR CHOCOLATE SWISS ROLLS 4’s 1.19 LEWIS HAMBURGER OR HOT DOG ROLLS 8’s Belgrave subdivision WESTON CINNAMON BUNS 8’s 1.69 BICK’S ASSORTED RELISHES 375 ML. deal approved by twp. BY GARY WALDEN The Humphprey subdivision at Belgrave was sold to East Wawa- nosh Reeve Ernest Snell and Snell Investors of Westfield when East Wawanosh township council met for its monthly meeting, May 6. The agreement to purchase the sub-division had been agreed to earlier but was subject to the sub-division agreement being ac ceptable to everyone involved. The purchase price covered all costs, including lawyer fees, incurred by the township when they purchased the sub-division to clear up title. The township had been trying to sell the lots, but were meeting with no success, as they could not guarantee closing dates. Since Reeve Snell had been the prime mover behind the township buying the sub-division, he felt obligated to make sure the township didn’t lose any money over it. Nobody else seemed interested in the property so subsequently the offer to purchase was made. Reeve Snell is now going to go ahead and put the services in, so that closing dates on the lots can be given. It is anticipated that by this fall all services should be complet ed. Mr. Snell hopes now that people who have been requesting infor mation on the lots will come forth to purchase them. He figures there will be a real building boom now in Belgrave.
