Londesboro Lions haven't asked for grants
THE EDITOR,
With reference to your recent
press coverage of the April Hullett
Township Council meeting, I feel

$50 fine if pets not vaccinated
BY CHRIS LAWS
Huron County Council approved
Thursday, that a minimum fine of
$50 be established for animal
owners who do not get their pets or
livestock vaccinated. The fine was
introduced to enforce Huron Coun
ty’s compulsory Rabies Vaccina
tion program that went into effect
March 2, 1987.
Although the motion passed, it
was not without some debate from
the reeves, and deputy reeves in
the areas of enforcement and
promotion of the program. Many
thought that owners would avoid
purchasing tags from the town
ships to avoid paying the $50 if
their animals were found not to be
vaccinated. These concerns are to
be discussed in detail at the next
Club, to clarify a misunderstand
ing that has arisen.
The article made reference to a
motion “thatHullett Township
would not make financial grants to
services clubs” and indicated that
Board of Health meeting.
Goderich Reeve Harry Worsell
expressed concern over two of the
motions presented by the Board of
Health. One was regarding the
vacations for the Nutritionist, and
Health Educator, who will be
eligibl e for four weeks off after only
one year of employment instead of
five, which is usually the case. The
other was regarding the purchase
of a radio for the Goderich Board of
Health office.
While the Social Services Com
mittee had no discussion over their
motions presented, J. A. McKinn
on, Administrator of Social Servic
es, stated his concerns over the
county having no day care policy.
Through several colourful anec
dotes of single parents on low
this motion was in response to a
decision torefusearequestfroman

most important is derived from the

Two dogs, chatting
THE EDITOR,
Two Brussels dogs were chatting, so to speak.
Said the one to the other, ‘‘did you see the paper last week?”
They’re gonna muzzle us, so they say
The other dog answered, ‘‘that will be the day.”
Our lives are not much now being tied up.
Heck, I’ve never made a lot of noise since I was a pup.
If we bark we’ll be punished and to me that’s a puzzle
I think some of these humans could stand to wear a muzzle.
