Brussels garden centre opens Sat A brand new garden centre officially opens in Brussels in time for the long holiday weekend, although proprietor Jeanette Boynton and her assistant Rose Marks have taken advantage of the warm weather and early gardening season to have it open for business over the past 10 days or so. Located in the old Fina service station at the north end of Turnberry Street, A Summer Place is ideally situated to cater fully to a gardener’s needs, with lots of display and storage space, a bright and charming bow window to brighten the store’s interior and to act as a background to a wide array of flowering, hanging baskets, and a generous parking area to accom modate trucks and trailers. A Summer Place has a choice selection of trees, shrubs, roses, and hanging baskets in stock for the grand opening on Saturday, as well as a wide variety of bedding plants, peat moss, topsoil, fertili zers, fungicidesand insecticides to get the job done right. A unique feature of the business is the good reference library Mrs. Boynton is in the process of building up right at the store, so that avid gardeners may browse through the books or look up a matter of particuar interest while they plan their gardens. As well, Mrs. Boynton herself is constantly building up her own knowledge of the subject so that she will always be able to offer a complete service to her clients. A Summer Place is operated in conjunction with the Brussels Agromart, which is operated by Mrs. Boynton’s husband, Dave.
