Tracey, along with three other heifers from other breeders, will be on display at Dairy Show-Case Barn in Ottawa. Phone 887-9487 WMS holds meeting The Women’s Missionary Socie­ ty held their meeting in the Church onMonday, May4withMrs. Ivy Cloakey presiding opening with a poem and followed by the hymn “How Sweetthe Name of Jesus sounds.” Mrs. Garner Nicholson read scripture and Mrs. Joe Dunbar gave a meditation on what makes a good mother. Mrs. Mac Scott led in prayer. Secretary’s report was read by Mrs. John McBurney and Mrs. Cloakey gave the treasurer’s re­ port. Roll call was answered by a verse on “Either Mother or Child”. Thirty-eight sick and shut-in visits were recorded. An invitation was read from 4-H calf club meets Whitechurch June 17 and also to a meeting in Knox United Church, Belgrave, May 28. Mrs. Nicholson will be in charge of the June meeting. A children’s rally will be held again in Kintail, June 10. It was agreed to send a donation to this. The Presbyterial will be held in Brussels, May 11. Mrs. McBurney read a topic entitled, “Too Many Memories.” Mrs. Hebo Siertsema read two poems, “My Mother’s Garden” and “Morning Prayer’’. Mrs. Hazel Dalrymple read, “Mother’s Home.” “Come let us sing of a Wonder­ ful Love” was sung and Mrs. Cloakey closed with prayer. Mrs. Agnes Youngblut was a special guest at the meeting. They began the second meeting with the roll call. The group talked about safety measures to prevent diseases when trucking animals. They also discussed precautions to be taken when the cattle first arrive at a new home. It was decided the next meeting will be held May 20 at the farm of Glenn Coultes. The first and second meeting of the Lucknow Calf Club was held on May 5 at the home of Murray Shiells. For the first meeting club members discussed the impor tancecofthe health of their animal, calving time, diseases and symp- tons to look out for. Season's last euchre held The weekly euchre commenced with a pot luck supper in the W.I. Hall Wednesday, May 6 starting at 6:30 p.m. Following the supper 14 tables of euchre were in play. Winners were: high lady, Mrs. Agnes Caskanette; novelty lady, Mrs. Iona McLean; low lady, Mrs. Pearl Shiell; birthday closest to date, Mrs. Lois Hart; highest score in one game, Mrs. Mary Chamney; lucky chair, Mrs. Leslie Vincent; lucky draw, Mrs. Lewis Stone- house and Mrs. Bert Johnston; high man, George Johnston; novelty man, Gamer Nicholson; low man, Mrs. George Johnston (playing as a man); birthday closest to date, Dave Murray; highest score in one game, Mrs. Ronald Coultes, (playing as a man); lucky chair, Leslie Vincent; lucky draw, Gordon Walker and Mrs. Lawrence Taylor (playing as a man). This is the final game for this spring. Euchre will commence in October.
