STOCKER SALE Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at Hensall Livestock Sales Ltd. on 900 Head May 9, 1987 No need for improvements, says Henschel Continued from page 1 Speaking of the decision to sell, the elder Mr. McCall said that it had been the hardest thing he had ever had to do. At a dinner last week welcoming the Henschell to the area, former Huron County Warden Leona Armstrong called Brussels Stock- yards ‘ ‘ a very major industry in this area, responsible for supporting so many of our other business.” Neither Bruce and Doris McCall nor Ross and Fran McCall say they have any intention of leaving the area, although both partners are leaving their future options open for the moment. Father and son are joint owners of Corbett Livestock near Parkhill, and Bruceoperates a 640-acre beef operation at New Liskeard, while Ross grazes cattle on 300 acres in the Paisley-Chesley area. Both will continue to work at the Stockyards until the end of June, they say. Mr. Henschel is in the process of moving to the area, while his wife, Kristin, 16-year-old daughter, Claudia, and 14-year-old son, Robin will join him as soon as the children are out of school in June. Both will attend F.E. Madill Secondary School in Wingham next year. Mr. Henschel has hired a St. Marys cattle buyer, Bob Galloway, a familiar figure at Brussels Stockyard sales, as his assistant. He will join veteran employee Keith McLean in buying trips around southwestern Ontario. Mr. Galloway will continue to commute to Brussels until school is out, when he, too, will be joined by his wife, Linda, and their four child ren, ranging in age from 19to3.His eldest son, Geoff, an Agribusiness student at the University of Guelph, will work at the Stockyards over the summer. All the former staff will continue in their positions at the Stockyards, says Mr. McCall. “It has been a need for improvement at this good business, and I can’t see any time,” Mr. Henschel added.
