Phone 887-6677 Duff's Church news Greeting worshippers Sunday morning at Duff’s United Church was Doreen Hackewell. The organist, Marion Godkin, accompanied at the piano when the Junior choir sang an anthem, ‘Love the Lord ’. Offering was received by Howard Hackwell and Martin Baan. The flowers in the church were in memory of the late Trish Clark. Rev. Lambletook as the sermon, “When doubts assail us.” Ben Hoegy read scripture lessons. In the announcements it was reported theU.C.W. meeting for May a joint meeting with both units has been changed to Tuesday evening in­ stead of usual Wednesday. The confirmation class met in the church basement Sunday after­ noon. Youth Group was to meet in the evening. Next Sunday the Grey-Bruce Singers will put on a concert at the church at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 10 is Christian Family Sunday. Sunday,May3at8 p.m. is the board meeting at the home of Ron and Betty McCallum. Ball season begins at Walton A cheque for $400was turned over to Barb Mutter [left] of the Brussels 115th birthday Homecoming committee Monday night by Debbie Seili of the Brussels Figure Skating Club. The cheque represented proceeds from the fashion show held Thursday night. People around Walton Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Marks and Blaine and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hackwell spent the recent Easter Sunday with Brian and Sharon Pryce and family at Winthrop. Mrs. Annie Reid and Mrs. Jean Scott visited last Monday with Mrs. Katie Stimore in Stratford. Debbie Wey, Saint John, New Brunswick and Dena Kale, Carla and Cameron of Edmonton, Alber­ ta have returned to their homes following a visit with their parents Campbell and Edith Wey. Doug and Heidi Wey, Guelph also visited at the same home. A W.I. euchre is scheduled for this Thursday evening at 8 p.m. at the hall. Lunch will be served. Ball season is getting underway at the Walton Park with some of the teams having practice last week. The committee has been hard at work cleaning the booth, painting the bleachers and installing the plastic tile on the fence that was donated by Paul Mutter, salesman for Bi “O”.
