Easter celebrated at United Easter Sunday morning activ- ityat Blyth United Church, on April 19, began with a pancake breakfast at 9:30 a.m. to which Sunday school students had invited their parents and other members of their family. They also invited them to sit with them in the sanctuary to worship God as a family unit. The church was filled to capacity. Rev. Ken Bauman officiated at the impressive baptismal service of Heather Anne Elliott, daughter of Anne and Rick Elliott. 54 people attend Passover Seder meal Fifty-four members and friends of Brussels United Church observed Maundy Thursday with the serving of a Passover Seder in the church hail. Reverend Charles Carpentier commenced the evening with an explanation of this ancient Jewish Festival and noted how much our Christian tradition has evolved from it. This was followed by the cere­ monial washing of hands, readings The focal point in the chancel was a tiered display of lilies and mums arranged by Deanna Snell. It was topped by a lighted candle and bore the script, “Rejoice! He is Risen.” Included among the lilies were those given by the Caldwell, Hamm, Govier, Taman and Sheilla and Gary Wallace families in memory of loved ones. During the children’s story time, Rev. Bauman, by means of pictures, a large chart and selected questioning, drew from his large, of appropriate scripture and the singing of hymns and a choir anthem. The meal, which was prefaced with a candle lighting and served by delegated hostesses, consisted of hard boiled eggs, radishes, celery, parsley, bread and butter, cake and grape juice. Bauman’s sermon point­ Young Walton girl dies at age 9 PATRICIA DAWN (TRISH) CLARK Patricia Dawn (Trish) Ciark of Walton died at her residence on April 17. 1987. She was nine years of age. The daughter of Bruce Clark and the former Pam MacGillvray, she was bom in Listowel. She attended Walton Public School where she was in grade 3. She was a member of the Walton ball team and the Brussels ringette team as well as the Junior Choir of Duff’s United Church. Besides her parents she is survived bv two brothers. Jim and Greg both at home and her grand­ parents John and Lena MacGil­ lvray of Stokesbury. Her other grandparents, Jim and Kathleen Clark of Walton, predeceased her. The funeral service was held on Sunday, April 19 from Duff’s ed out the reaction of Jesus’ re­ latives and disciples to His ap­ pearances following His resurrec­ tion and how these have streng­ thened and belief right to the pre­ sent time. Robert John (Jack) Cameron passed away Sunday. April 12, 1987 at Win­ gham and District Hospital in his 77th year. Mr. Cameron, who was a former resident of Brussels and Cranbrook, had lived at Brook­ haven, Wingham, in recent years. Bom in Cranbrook on Dec. 12, 1910, Jack Cameron was a son of the late Thomas Cameron and Margaret Brown. He is survived by one daughter. Nancy Cameron of Toronto; one son, Murray, Tor­ onto; two grandsons, John Cam­ eron Morritt of Peterborough and A full choir under the direction of Margaret Kai rendered the an­ them, “The Holy City”. . He was pre­ deceased by his twin sister, Jean, in 1974 and by one granddaughter, Jane Morritt. The late Jack Cameron rested at the Brussels Chapel of M.L. Watts Funeral Homes until Tues­ day afternoon at one o’clock when complete funeral and committal service was conducted by Rev. Vic Jamieson of Melville Presbyterian Church.
