Kathy Bridge president of Majestic The annual meeting of the Majestic Women’s Institute was held in the Melville Presbyterian Church on Wednesday. A sumptuous dinner prepared by the church ladies was enjoyed by 25 ladies. After dinner, the meeting open­ ed in the usual manner and the president, Mrs. Kathy Bridge, introduced the head table guests. The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and appioved. The financial statement was read ors: Agricultural and Canadian Industries, Mrs. Ida Evans; Citi­ zenship and World Affairs prepar­ ed by Margaret MacLeod and read by Mrs. Ruth Galbraith; Education and Cultural Activities by Mrs. Iona Moore; Family and Consumer Affairs by Mrs. Jane DeVries. The P.R.O. report was read by Mrs. Doris McCall, the Sunshine report by Mrs. Isabel Adams, and the Curator’s by Mrs. Marie McTag­ gart. Mrs. Jane DeVries read the slate which showed a very busy year. The auditors’ report was given by Mrs. Isabel Adams. New hand­ books will be available at the District Annual. The roll call was answered by revealing your Sunshine Sister. Mrs. Doris McCall thanked the leaders of the Adult and 4-H courses, Mrs. Joan Jacobs, Mrs. Kathy Bridge, Mrs. Edna McLel­ lan and Mrs. Barbara Graber and presented them with a gift. Mrs. Kathy Bridge, Mrs. Marie McTaggart, Mrs. Peggy Cudmore and Mrs. Edna McLellan are to be the voting delegates for the District Annual to be held in Molesworth on May 12. The Achievement Day for thc4-HCIubswill be held on May5 at7:30p.m.inthe Grey Central School and the Adult Course Summary Day will be held on May 20 in the O.M.A.F. office in Clinton. The committee in charge of the euchre party on April 13 consists of Mrs. Doris McCall, Mrs. Isabel Adams, Mrs. Jane DeVries and Mrs. Kathy Bridge. Announcement was made re­ garding the Hot Supper ^nd Euchre Party to be held in the library on Monday night, April 27 at 7 p. m. The proceeds from this party will go to the Cancer Society. Mrs. Ruth Galbraith mentioned the J une meeting will be a bus trip to the Erland Lee Home and a greenhouse in Dundas. Those interested are tokeepJune 10th open for this. Mrs. Peggy Cudmore introduc­ ed the speaker, Mrs. Elfriede Klassen of Fordwich, first vice- president of Huron East District. Mrs. Klassen gave a very interest­ ing resume of her life in Germany and on coming to Canada without any knowledge of the English language. Mrs. Marie McTaggart thanked the speaker and presented her with a gift. The annual reports were read by the standing committee conven- Brussels 4-H club forms BY CINDY STUTE The first meeting of the Brussels 11 “ShirtTails” was held March 31 at the home of Marie Stute. All six members were present. Intro­ ductions were made and the meeting got off to a cheery start. Nominations for president and vice-president were made and the results were: president, Shelley Duskocy; vice-president, Donna Johnston. Everyone answered the roll call (afteralotoftagchecking). The points of the meeting were then discussed, with the leaders adding their own helpful hints along the way. Marie Stute then gave each of us a sample of cotton fabric and one of cotton-blend, to be mounted in the books.
