SUCCESSFUL SPEAKER Ann Morton, from grade 8, has done extremely well with her speech entitled, “My Future Occupation.” After being chosen to represent grade 8 in our gymnasium, Ann went on to compete in Brussels. Ann thrilled everyone with a dazzling performance which was good enough to get her first prize and the chance to proceed to speak in Kincardine. Ann did very well, placing second overall. Ann’s speech begins with her thoughts as to what her future occupation might be when she was four years old. As she gets older, she realizes that she wants to become a journalist, and visit all four corners of the world just to bring people the news! Ann’s speech has done very well and we wish her the best of luck in fulfilling her wish to become a journalist in the near future! By Melanie V ermeer. IT TAKES A WIZARD The Wizard - Angie Williams Sleeping Beauty - Charmaine Lichti The King - Simeon Brubacher The Jester - Lori-Ann Perrie Robbing Hood - Dennis Terpstra These pupils all have a main part in the spring concert called, “It Takes a Wizard”. These pupils are from the grades 5 and 6classes. They said that they enjoy playing their role in the play very much and that they think the whole play will be a lot of fun and laughter. These pupils have most of the singing parts and also talking parts in the olay. The Wizard, Jester and King are in every scene in the play, but Robbing Hood and Sleeping Beau ty are not. We’re sure that everybody else will enjoy themselves for they are either Robbing Hood’s Merry Men or a group of protesters. They are the back-up group and support system for the lead characters.
