Blyth 4-H clubbers
learn household tips
Learning how to launder clothes
properly as well as transportation
devices were some of the useful
topics discussed at the Blyth III,
“Surviving with Style’’ meetings
held during the month of March.
The Club’s fourth meeting was
held on March 4 at the home of Tom
Musty. After answering “how
many loads of laundry does your
family do in a week’’ for roll call,
the members discussed laundry
techniques and correct ironing
procedures.
Dishwashing, food spoilage and
refrigerator cleaning were the
topics for the fifth meeting.
Michelle and John Nesbit hosted
the meeting on March 18. Roll call
was to name the household chores
the members were responsible for.
March 25 was the date for the
sixth meeting at Julie and Jeff
Bromley’s home. Members had to
tell where they would go for a
week’s vacation for roll call. The
discussion was about getting from
one place to another and how to
take care of their modes of
transportation.
Snacks were served at the end of
each meeting and were closed with
the club motto.

Anniversary Tea
Eleven members of the Execu-
tiveof Blyth U.C.W. met on March
30.
Susan Howson presided and
Mary Wightman acted as secre
tary. Edelgard Hoba gave a
comprehensive financial support.
Plans were made for an interest
ing event taking place on June 10-
the 25th U.C.W. Anniversary Tea
which will attract charter members
from different parts of the province
as well as Blyth's present mem
bers. Committees were set up to
handle invitations; program which
will include a skit and picture
display; and also decorations and
lunch which, of course, will feature
the “big cake”.
Next Sunday. April 12. at 8 p.m.
the Bly th U.C.W. spring thank-
offering service takes place which
U.C.W. members from several
churches in the area will attend. A
large attendance from Blyth
U.C.W. is anticipated as well as
men whose attendance each year is
growing. Grace Pym. a talented
speaker, well known in Huron-
Perth Presbytery, will give the
address.
Walton U.C.W. has invited
Blyth to hear the Grey Bruce
Singers in theirchurch on May 3. at
3 p.m. Admission only $3.00.
Attention was drawn to a request
from London Conference
U.C.W.’s for a letter writing
campaign to support Christian
workers in detention in Korea who
are friends and acquaintances of
United Church missionaries.
As South Korea was the U.C.W.
Study three years ago, this request
will certainly be fulfilled by many
United Church women across
Canada.
