Forty-five Lions, ladies and guests were in attendance. Guest speaker for the evening was District A 9 Drug Awareness chair­ man Bob Plamondon from the Mount Forest Lions Club. The Blyth and Londesboro Lions Vegas Night was held on April 4 at the Blyth and District Community Centre. The grand prize winner of $500 was Mrs. Wayne Kennedy of Londesboro. All money raised from this event will be used by the Blyth Public School news FUN DAY On Friday, April 3 the Blyth Public School held a Hot Dog Day ending with a dance. We thank the grade 2 class and their families for bringing desserts and also Mrs. Kolkman for being in charge of sales. Proceeds from Hot Dog Days go toward field trips and purchases of special supplies. By Amber Gelwicks and Stephanie Lentz BLYTH CHOIR VISITS HURONVIEW On April 2, the Blyth Public School Senior Choir performed for the residents of Huronview. The students sang familiar songs and recitedtheirprize-winning oral speeches. Following the performance, the choir mingled with the residents and enjoyed juice and cookies Blyth and Londesboro Clubs to help pay for their many projects. The Blyth Lions Club are sponsoring two contestants in the Lions Effective Speaking Pro­ gramme. At the Region 3 Final in Londesboroon Monday, March 30, Craig Bauman won the English Boys category and Kim Medd was the first runnerup in the English Girls category. Both contestants advanced to the District A9 Final which was held Monday, April 6 in Owen Sound. The Blyth Lions Club paid for one hour ice time per week at the provided by the staff . The choir is directed by Mrs. Laurie Little and accompanied by Mrs. Shirley Vincent. By Sarah Allan and Chrystal Cucksey FLUFFY FEATHERED FRIENDS ATB.P.S. The Kindergarten class at B.P.S. has been doing a study on Farm Animals. To add excitement to the study Mr. Marsh brought 10, four-day old chicks into the classroom on Friday. I interviewed two kindergarten students to get their opinions on the chicks. Nathan Hubbard said they were cute and soft and they looked funny. He also thought they made a lot of noise. James Lair said they were cute, soft, nice and cuddly and he liked petting them and he liked the noise. By Kevin Souch Blyth arena for children ’ s beginner skating. The Lions District A9 Conven­ tion will be held April 10,11, and 12 in Goderich. Blyth, Londesboro, Auburn, Clinton and Goderich Lions Clubs are hosting this convention. Following the dinner auction, an old-fashioned Jamboree is plann­ ed with enterainment provided by Wayne McClinchey and Ken Scott, supported by all others who care to participate.
