Brussels Public School news Kids learn about rabies RABIES-A MENACE IN HURONCOUNTY Jack MacKinnon from the Hur on County Health Unit came to visit Brussels School to talk about Rabies. He presented a very impressing show with a videotape called “No Way For a Friend to Die’’ showing real rabid animals and real situations involving peo ple. Mr. MacKinnon told us what to look for if you suspect a rabid animal, and told us that all pets have to have a rabies vaccination as of March, 1987. He told us what happens to animals as well as humans when they are bitten by an animal with Rabies. I know that many kids came out of the gymnasium knowing much more about the deadly virus, rabies. By Brian McArter 4-H club visits garage BY JANICE HEISE The Bluevale III Bachelorettes are very grateful to Tolton’s Garage in Bluevale. As a special treat their club visited the garage on Mon., March 30. As they stepped over the threshhold into the warmth of the building, a glimpse of a shiny, new carraiseda number of exclama tions from the members. Yes, it was the patient which was to bear poking, probing fingers, a tire change, and its lights and other gadgets flicked on and off several times. Twocheerymenthen showed the “eager eight” the labyrinth structure of a basic car motor. They also showed member where and how to check such things as the motor oil, windshield fluid, and of course, how to change a tire. Each member received a pen and keychain. On behalf of the club, I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank the men for taking the time to show the basic necessities of car mainten ance. They left at 11:45 and arrived at 1:35, a little late because of engine trouble. They missed two performances, one because they were late and the other because a violinist was storm-stayed in ano ther city. Among the pieces they enjoyed were The Pink Panther, Super man, Overture: The Marriage of Figaro, Overture: Candide, Little G Minor Fugue, and The Mira- michi Ballad. They were there for about 40 minutes and then had to go home.
