I cannot depart from The Citizen without sending
a sincere word of thanks to all the wonderful people
who have helped and encouraged me over the past
year and a half
To our many advertisers who have used the paper
to increase their business and store traffic: 1 have
enjoyed calling on you and have found our
discussions stimulating. I can assure you that the
new advertising manager at The Citizen, Janice
Gibson, is knowledgeable and experienced in the
art of advertising and is eager to serve you as an
advertising professional and friend. 1 am delighted
that she is joining The Citizen and I know you will
enjoy meeting her.
And to all those wonderful readers [and they are
increasing every day]: Many thanks for continuing
to tell us how much the paper means to you and your
J’amily and how you look forward to receiving it each
week. There have been some long weary days when
those words of encouragement have made it all
worthwhile.
1 have been proud to be associated with Keith and
Jill Roulston, who have the talents and ethics to
publish a paper which builds bridges ofcom m unica
tion and enhances each of the communities it
serves. They have gathered around them a staff of
people who are equally dedicated to publishing the
best paper in Huron County and it has been a
pleasure to work with them.
Andi would be remiss if I did not give a ‘ tip of my
hat' ’ to the board of directors who have provided
guidance and encouragement to all of us.
My new job as Co-ordinator of Volunteers at
Town and Country Homemakers will keep me active
throughout Huron County. You can be sure that 1
will be watching with continued interest the
growth and development of The Citizen.
