THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1, 1987. 6 confirmed at Blyth United ceremony A very impressive Confirmation service took place in Blyth United Church last Sunday, March 29, which was conducted by Rev. Ken Bauman. Howson from Wingham and David Medd, Londesborough. Received by transfer to the Blyth church were: Blanche and Cliff Hoegy from Walton: Candice Received by Profession of Faith and significantly involved in the service were: Craig Bauman, Colleen Glousher, Matthew King, Timothy King, Kimberley Medd and Leslie Phillips. After responding to the nine questions posed to them on their profession of faith, each of the six candidates enjoyed the privilege of expressing from the pulpit for 3-5 minutes, in his or her own words, what it means to say yes to Jesus' bidding to follow Him. The six new United Church members not only received but also served communion to the congre­ gation and out-of-town friends present at their confirmation. At its close, in the Narthex, members of the congregation congratulated these young people on the membership step taken, and commended them on their confi­ dence and sincerity which were evidenced in their testimonies from the pulpit. Robert James (Bert) Yuill of Jackson St., Brussels passed away at Victoria Hospital, London on March28,1987 as the result of a stroke. He was 76 years of age. He was born in Cub oss township and came to the Brussels area in 1951. He retired to Brussels in 1972 where he was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church. He married the former Mary Florence Moore. She survives him. Also surviving is a son Jim, and his wife Marlene of Brussels and two grandsons, Glenn and Garry Yuill. Four sisters and one brother predeceased him.
