We wish these students the best at the next level of competition. THE ICON’S WERE HERE BY DAVID HESSELS On March 20, 16 ICON compu ters came to our school. The first day Mrs. Marie Parsons explained how to use the computers to students and teachers. Then Mr. Marsh took over! Eachclass had their own time each day of the week. These computers have been brought by the Huron County School Board and are touring the county’s schools. On Friday they left our school and went to the next school. The ICON computers are much better than the school’s comput ers. ICON’S have a built in roller that works as a mouse or a joystick and all sixteen computers work on two disc drives. Parents were in during the week tousethecomputers. We would like to thank Mr. Marsh for spendingso much time with the students as well as returning each night all week to demonstrate their use to parents. AWESOME ART BY KEVIN SOUCH On Monday, March 23, Mrs. D. Graham, the art consultant for the Huron County Board of Education, came to Blyth Public School to demonstrate to the grade 7 and 8 classes some new art techniques. She did such things as drawing three dimensional sketches of a box. She also showed the students how to draw scenes with disappearing point. 1 he students thought she was “awesome” and her drawings were “out of sight”. I r, p ■ Tammi Medd of Blyth was the overall winner at the Blyth Public School Science Fair last week with her carefully-researched project on “Spiderland”. Planning ahead, Tammi had to collect her spiders last fall, knowing they would not be up and about when she needed them for the exhibit. Tammi will now take her spiders to compete in the county Science Fair in Clinton on April 10. Travel a little bit farther for the best deals around!
