Clinton puppeteer Marian Doucette, above, admires the Easter Bunny made by Melissa Evers of RR1, Wroxeter. Ms. Doucette will put on a kid’s puppet show at 3 p.m. next Saturday at the Brussels Library. Admission is free. Festival Singers present concert March 29 The Blyth Festival Singers are pleased to announce the second concert in their current season, a programme of sacred music to be performed on Sunday, March 29 at 3p.m.and8p.m.atOntario Street United Church, Clinton. The Festival Singers have chos­ en a wide-ranging repertoire of sacred music, from works by well-known Canadian composer Healey Willan to familiar composi­ tion s by Mozart, Beethoven and Handel. Singers’ member Phil Telfer will perform the tenor solo in Cesar Franck’s beautiful “O Lord Most Holy.” Highlight of the concert will be the performance of Schubert’s Mass in B flat. Joining the choir for Stratford holds open house this work will be Anita Ruthig, soprano, St. Mary’s; Lisa Philpott, alto, London; tenor Derrick Long, Stratford; and bass John Wilkin­ son, also of Stratford. The concert will be performed under the direction of Angus Sinclair, Strat­ ford, and accompanied by Louise McGregor of Clinton. Lovers of choral sacred music will enjoy joining the choir in several well-known hymns from the Christian tradition. Tickets are available ($5 - adult & $1.50 - child) from choir members or by phoning the Blyth Festival Box Office (523-9300). The Festival Singers will look forward to meeting the audience during refreshments following each per­ formance. Even though performances for the Stratford Festival’s 1987 sea­ son are still several weeks away, approximately 2,000people are expected to be at the Festival on Sunday, March 22. The event is the annual Stratford Festival Open House. Doors open at 11 a.m. and Open House activities continue until 5 p.m. Open House features guided tours of both the Festival and Avon Theatres. It also includes demon­ strations, displays and tours of backstageproductionareas. No reservations are needed and ad- mission is free. Theatre tours take approximately 50 minutes to com­ plete and the last tour in each theatre will begin at 4:10 p.m. Staffing for Open House activi­ ties includes members of the Stratford Friends of the Festival volunteer organization and staff members of the Festival who have volunteered their time. The Stratford Festival also wishes to express its appreciation to Tim Horton Donuts (Stratford) and McDonalds Restaurant (Strat­ ford) for their provision of compli­ mentary refreshments.
