More Brussels council news next week Because of the lateness of Brussels council meeting Monday night it was impossible for all news from the meeting to be prepared in time for normal press deadlines. Because of this, more news will be included in next week’s issue. You are cordially invited to attend Pending the approval of its partners, Brussels will appoint a non-member of council as its representativponthe Brussels, Morris and Grey industrial com mittee. A vacancy in the Brussels representation was caused last , month by the resignation of Councillor Malcolm Jacobs from the committee. At Monday night’s meetingof council, Reeve Hank TenPas asked if there were any volunteers for the Brussels posi tion on the committee but no councillor expressed an interest. Reeve TenPas said he felt his workload was already heavy enough so he too declined. He had been approached by two individuals, however, who had volunteered to work on the commit tee. In the end, after a discussion about whether or not the represen tative had to be from the council, councillors agreed to appoint Keith Mulvey to the committee unless Morris or Grey had a complaint about a non-councillor being on the committee. Brussels Midgets hockey coach Paul Steep presented trophies to some special people on his team in a ceremony at the Brussels, Morris and Grey arena last week. Bruce Johnston [back, left] was awarded the Most Improved Midget trophy; Marty Rutledge [back, right] was named the Most Valuable Midget; John Steffler [front, left] is the Most Valuable Bantam; and Steve Fritz [front, right] was named the Most Sportsmanlike player. •• V A. o ° ( SHOWCASE ’87 Sr—?------/£------...................T— m\|) Whether there’s a Wedding in your » J)) future or that of a friend or relative, you won’t want to miss Wedding j \ \ Showcase ’87.
