Curling is supposed to be relaxation but for some like these sweepers
at the Brussels Stockyards Bonspiel at the BMG arena on Monday, it
seems to be darned hard work. Seventy-two curlers from as far away as
Ripley, Milverton and Walkerton took part in the two draws.

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Queren-
gesser, formerly of Grey Town
ship, will celebrate their 60th
wedding anniversary in Kitchener
next week, with a formal celebra
tion planned for late April, when
the weather is more pleasant.
Lawrence Querengesser, the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Querengesser, and Caroline Dark,
MR. & MRS. LAWRENCE
QUERENGESSER
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John
Dark, were married on February
23,1927, at the home of the bride’s
parents on the ninth Concession of
Grey Township. The Reverend W.
A. Williams of the Cranbrook
Presbyterian Church conducted
the service.
Lillian Dark, sister of the bride,
played the wedding music, and
Edith Roulston, also a sister of the
bride, and her husband, Percy
Roulston, of Stratford, stood up
with the couple.
They travelled by train for a
honeymoon to Toronto, Hamilton
and Stratford and when they
returned home, the community
held a surprise reception in their
honour. The day of the reception
was beautiful and spring-like, but a
long spell of bad weather followed
quickly on its heels.
Mr. and Mrs. Querengesser
farmed on the 10th Concession of
Grey until 1955, when they sold the
farm and moved to Stratford,
where Mr. Querengesser worked
for the Department of Highways,
and Mrs. Querengesser worked at
the Stratford General Hospital.
They later moved to Kitchener.
The couple have four children:
Clifford, of Ethel; Florence and
Freeman, both of Waterloo; and
Mildred, of London; as well as a
number of grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
