King Reunion To
Honour Forebears
The Kingsbridge Genealogical
Society are holding a reunion on
Sunday. July 31. for the descend-
ants of the Morgan King Family.
Father Ralph O'Loughlin. C.S.B. of
the Basilian Mexican Missions.
MexiCO City, and founder of the
Society in 1968. will celebrate a
memorial mass for Julia Lane
King. wife of Morgan. on the 100th
anniversary of her death;
Morgan King was one of the first
eight settlers to come to Kings-
bridge from County Kerry. Ireland
in 1840 with his family.
After a settlement was made in
Goderich in 1825. the survey of
Ashfield Township began about
183'. Wm. O'Neil. whose second
wife was ellen King. daughter of
Morgan, was among the survey
party.
A program following the dinner
will be highlighted by a History of
the King family. A display of
family pictures, visiting and remin-
iscing for descendants will com-
plete the day's activities.
