Bev Kay preached his fa 'ell sermon with topic being I believe in the Holy Catholic Church. After the service all had lunch in the Sunday School room. When lunch was over John de Boer was master of ceremonies for a short program. Mrs. Walter Moore read a poem which she-had composed to the Kay family. Mrs. John de Boer on behalf of the W.M.S. presented Mrs. Kay with a,cup and saucer. John de Boer on behalf of Chalmer's congregation presented Rev. B. Kay with a film projector. Rev. Kay thanked all for their kindness in remembering him and the family in this way. They left around 3 o'clock with the station wagon and trailer to go to Tobermory. where they would catch the ferry at 7 p.m. to Manitoulin Island. During 'August Chalmers congre- gation will join Whitechurch United Church at 10 a.m. for services of worship. On Sunday evening at 8 p.m. Induction Services were held at Whitechurch United Church for Reverend Wilena Brown. Rev. B. Kay has been called and appointed to Kitimat, British Columbia, where he will commence his, ministry of word and sacra- ments in September. His Service of Recognition will be conducted by the Presbytery of Kamloops in Kitimat Presbyterian Church on the evening of August 31st. ' August 31 Rev. A. C. Young of Goderich will be in charge of services at Langside and White- church. WHITECHURCti C.O.C. The C.O.C. held their July service in the Sunday School room on Sunday during church service. The call to worship was given by president Eddie de Boer. Bobby Jamieson read the scripture lesson. Mark 8, 22-26. Prayer was given. by Karen Pickard. The minutes of the last meeting were read by secretary Kendra F'urdon. 12 members answered the roll call naming a grain of the Bible. The birthday ( calendar was marked. The offering was received by Steven Rintoul and the offering prayer was given by Donald Irwin. Mrs. Archie Purdon gave the junior story. Mrs. Hugh Simpson gave the senior story. He would not run away, based on I Corinthians 16, verse 13 and God's Gifts. The closing prayer was sung.
