Plan Meeting
To Study
Future Needs
After having completed so many
successful community projects,
some of the original Ripley-Huron
Community Development Group
and some interested persons met
on Sunday evening, July. 17 in the
Presbyterian Church, Ripley to
discuss interest in appointment of a
committee to work with the
principal of the local District School
in an advisory capacity on program
planning for Night School and to
see if there is an interest in
academic or other courses added to
those already offered.
Those in attendance .agreed that
a public meeting should be held to
determine the . general feeling.
Therefore it is planned to have such
a meeting in St. Andrew's United
Church on Sunday evening, August
7 at 8.30 p.m.

of Stouffville visited last week with
his parents Mr. and Mrs. John
Pritchard and family, Lucknow.
Mrs. Clarence MacLennan and
son David of Glammis; Mrs. Colin
MacGregor and Mrs. Jean Finlay-
son of Goderich; Mrs. Chris Bargh,
May and Gordon of London visited
last week with their cousin Mrs.
George Stuart„ Lucknow. Mr. and
Mrs. Wm. O'Brian of Bancroft
were also visitors during the week
at the same home.

Two race horses,' bred by Ross
Forster of Huron Township, placed
very well in important stake races
at Greenwood Track last week.
'Jumbo Cat, owned, now by Dave
Wall, Kincardine placed first the
seventh race. Jumbo Be Good,
owned by Ron Hutton, Owen Sound
was second in the third race. Both
races had sizeable•purses of about
$26,000 for each race. A first net's
the owners a share in excess of
$12,000. Ross Forster, the son, of
Mr. and Mrs. Ron Forster of
Lucknow, still retains an interest in
the horses in stake races.

Russ Ritchie, Lucknow.
Mr. and Mrs. William O'Brien of
Coe Hill were callers at the Sentinel
office last week. Mrs. O'Brien is
the farmer Ruth Ramage of St.
Helens.
Donalda Thompson, 9-year-old
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don
Thompson, Lucknow, presently has
her left arm in a cast. She fractured
her wrist in a fall while roller
skating at Lucknow Arena.
Julia and Mark Ritchie of R. R. 2
Bayfield are holidaying with their
grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Russ
Ritchie, Lucknow.
Clarence Rye of Roycroft, Alber-
ta is visiting his cousin, Mrs.
Gordon Morrison and Mr. Morri-
son, R. R. 1 Lucknow. Mr. Rye's
grandfather was Joseph Alton, who
farmed at one time on the farm now
owned 'by Harvey Kilpatrick,
Belfast..
Donna Carter of Lucknow retur-
ned home Saturday after spending
a week in Wingham Hospital and
two weeks in University Hospital,
London.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Toney, Rob
and Leighann of Gull Lake, Saskat-
chewan are visiting with her
parents Mr. and Mrs. Bob Mac-
Kenzie at Amberley Beach.
Mrs. Symon de Boer of Lucknow
returned July 9th from a six week
holiday in Holland, where she
visited with her son Ime de Boer
and family, her two sisters, her
brother and other friends and
relatives.
Mrs. Wm. Blue of Detroit was a
visitor the past week with relatives
and friends in Lucknow and Ripley.

Phyllis Schram, both of London and

Died In Hospital
Cairns Aitchison of Wingharn
passed away on Monday, July 11th
at Wingham and District Hospital
in his 93rd year.
The funeral service was held at
MacKenzie Memorial . Chapel,
Lucknow at 2 p.m. on Wednesday,
July 13th.
Interment was in Greenhill
Cemetery.
