PINETREE
CRESTENETS
BY AUBREY HIGGINS
"Help!" I wrote a few lines
some time ago stating my belief of
the need of some signs on Bob,
Street.
Parents, those are your children!
Protection for which, I thought the
signs necessary. I fully understand
that this semester is over, and the
summer holidays are at hand, but
to bring this more clearly in your
mind, I have seen cars have to
come to a full shop because of a
dropped book or a skidding bicycle,
or just plain "Horsing around".
There hasn't been anything happen
yet, to my knowledge, but it only
takes a few seconds, and that child
could be yours. Just because there

has been nothing in the past, does
not mean that it could not happen
tomorrow. Because of the excessive
speed thitt some drivers use in
those two short blocks, could just
as easily bring tragedy to this home
of ours.
I say "Help", because there is
the possibility that a great number
of people do not consider my
writing worth reading, and do not
know of this, or take the attitude
that those things are costly things,
or that the situation has taken care
of itself and will continue to do so.
However, on Elgin 'Street, which
is a new street' and not paved yet,
there was a consierable amount of
dust from traffic. Yesterday, there
was a large grader made several
trips to smooth the surface and
immediately after he was through
there was a village truck with
calcium or some such substance
spread all over the street.
I believe I am correct in saying
there are only four houses on each
side of this street, four of them
having built in the last year.
What I have been writing about
concerns possibly one hundred
homes, and human lives as well. I
have written this just as a

comparison of values, all in plain
view from the patio of the home.
Those are strictly my own
thoughts and observations, I hope
to never mention it again only as a
thank you, for a job that is really
well done.
It is a real pleasure to see the
number that are being taken out to
dinner or for a nice long drive since
the warm weather has arrived the
last few days.
The classes for the girls have
ended for the summer months,
which will give them a chance for a
little home life as they had so much
studying to do along with the
classes that they had very little
time to themselves.
Glad to have Mr. and Mrs.
Newbold back home with us again,
even if we were in very capable
hands during their absence.
I attended a senior citizens
meeting the other evening and in
speaking into the P.A. system I told
what had been told to me as a joke,
and had been accepted as such. So
you see, if it was a lie from me, it
was also a lie to me, and there was
most certainly no intent of hurting
anyone's feelings and if I did, I
humbly beg' their forgiveness.
