Farewell Party
For Suttons
LANGSIDE NEWS
A farewell party was held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Springer
on Friday evening for Bud Sutton
and family, Laurie, Kim, Blair and
Brent, who have purchased a farm
out west and were leaving Saturday
morning. During the evening they
were presented with presents and
an envelope of money. A weiner
roast was held at lunch time. A
good crowd was in attendance.
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Conley of
LUcknow and Elmer Scott of the
sixth of Culross motored to London
Sunday afternoon to visit with Mrs.
Lloyd Moffat of Lucknow, formerly
of Langside, who is a patient in St.
Joseph's Hospital after undergoing
surgery. We wish her a speedy
recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Woodley of
London visited on. Sunday with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Steer.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Young
visited on Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Ed Wightman of Belgrave.

course in Ottawa.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Heffernan of
London spent the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. D. A. MacLennan,.
who will be celebrating their 50th
wedding anniversary later this
month.
Mrs. Finlay MacDonald has been
visiting in Detroit with her sister
and other relatives there,
Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Finlayson were Mr. and Mrs. Rod
Finlayson and twin daughters of.
Sarnia, Ian Finlayson and Mr. and
Mrs. Duncan Finlayson of Toronto.
Young Peoples held a weiner and
marshmallow roast at their beach
party on Friday evening. A good
attendance was reported.
Mrs. Nell of Stayner, who had
been visiting with her daughter
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bregman and
family, returned home last Thurs-
day.
" Mr. and Mr's. William Bates left
,Friday for a three week holiday out
west.
Baptismal services were held in
Langside and Whitechurch Presby-
terian Churches on Sunday. There
were no children baptized at
Langside but at Whitechurch two
babies were baptized, Robert
William Nelson Frank and Jarret
Thomas Craig.
BRIDAL SHOWER
A bridal shower was held last
Wednesday evening in Langside
Hall for Nancy de Boer, bride-to-
be. Helen Weirsma was chairman.
The program consisted of contests,
readings and piano solos. After this
an address was read and Nancy
was invited to the 'platform to open
the presents with the help of her
two sisters, Hilda and Joanne. The
presents were carried by Sandra
Excel and , Linda VanderKlippe.
Mrs. Symon de Bizier decorated a
hat with the bows and, ribbons
which looked lovely and Some
pictures were taken. Nancy thank-
ed everyone and all sang,For She's
a Jolly Good Fellow. A.; delicious„
lunch was then served and a social
time enjoyed.
Several from this district attend-
ed the bridal shower in the
Teeswater Town Hall for Anne
Sande, bride-to-be on Saturday
evening.
