tion of and injury to the Dungannon
Drain on a lot where footings for a
building have been poured.
Harold Menary, Bob Hallam and
Bob Gibbon attended the meeting
regarding the animal control-by-
law. These people were informed
that there is no Act controlling road
fences - only line fences - and that,
while an owner must maintain his
portion of a line fence, road fences .
are not required if he has no
livestock to enclose. An occupant
must maintain a fence to keep all
livestock from running-at-large,
but a farmer is not required to
fence to keep livestock out. Under
the animal control by-law passed
by the Township it is an offence to
allow livestock to run-at-large.
Therefore, if livestock have broken
through' a poorly. kept road fence
the owner has contravened the
by-law and anyone Who has
suffered damage by such livestock
running-at-large may bring an
action against the owner of the
livestock.
The Community Centre to be,
constructed by the Lucknow Lions
Club was discussed at length.
Motion by Councillors Cranston
and Foran: "That the Township of
West Wawanosh is agreeable to
contributing to the maintenance
costs of the Lucknow Community
Centre at a rate of .10% of the
annual maintenance costs."
Motion by Councillors Hickey
and Cranston gave third reading
and finally passed by-law No: 10,
1977, which authorizes the imposi-
tion of a special rate on N 1/2 lot 21,
concession 6, Township of West
Wawanosh, to cover a tile drainage
loan.
