JUNE 1967
There was excitement at the
farm of Wellington Webster on
Highway 86 near Amberley. Their
"nanny" goat, which had regularly
given birth to three goats for the
previous two years, came up with
her own centennial • project and
presented the Websters with a set
of four. Three were quite healthy
and the fourth they were hoping, to
save.
Lucknow Business Men sponsor-
ed a special 16 page supplement in
the June 26th issue of the Lucknow
Sentinel to commemorate Centen-
nial year. A heading read "100
years of progress in the Sepoy
Town has developed Business
Places and Customer Services
second to none".
A centennial project .of the
students of Huron County School
Area No. 2 was the compiling of a
booklet called "The Centennial
Book of Canadian Indians". The 30
page booklet contained historical
information on the Indian tribes of
Canada and was a valuable
reference for students and those
interested in Canadian history.

Flower Sunday was introduced
here as the United Church Sunday
School Anniversary and Flower
Sunday were combined in a
beautiful and impressive service. It
was the first flower Sunday to be
held here and the decorating
committee spared no effort to make
the altar surroundings beautiful
with early summer flowers. To this
'display was added the individual
bouquet of each member of the
Sunday School as they marched
into the church in a body.

An article on the "Speed of
Cars" read in part, "It appears to
be settled that the speed limit for
motor cars on our highways is to be
raised to 35 miles per hour, It has
been 25 miles. Outside of towns
and cities and off the highway little
attention has beep paid to the 25
mile limit for some years and it is
safe to say that many motorists will
habitually exceed the new limit".
Frost was again 'reported on June
15th, this being the 6th frosty
