the mound.
On Sunday, July 10, the locals
suffered their second loss of the
year dropping a 6-4 decision to
Moorefield. Except for a bad Sth
inning. Moorefield was kept o
scoreboard.
Next, home game is Wednesday
night when Lucknow hosts Brod-
hagen.

Curators are having a day long
meeting in Goderich on August 2,
9.30 a.m. and each Branch is asked
to bring two dozen cookies.
Dungannon Branch of W.I. are
making plans to host the October
meeting of Huron County Histor-
ical Society with Mrs. Graham
McNee and Mrs:" Fred Young in
charge of program. October 12 is
the suggested date. Home and
Country magazines were distribut-
ed and collection received, then the
picnic contests were resumed,
using a vegetable, and a flower
contest. and card bingo: also
several spot prizes. Interesting
prizes were given to the various
winners.
Following the contests all enjoy-
ed a delicious smorgasbord meal
under the beautiful shade trees.
The president expressed•courtesies
to the hoitess. and to the Branch
Directors, Mrs Russel Alton. Mrs.
George Ernngton and Mrs. Gordon

Hackett Reunion
.Held Sunday .
The descendants of Joseph and
Eliza Jane Hackett held their
reunion at Ashfield Park on9 July
10, with 48 persons present. All
enjoyed an afternoon of fellowship,
good food, and games. .
The president, J. C. Drennan,
presided for a short business
meeting. Two minutes' silence was
observed in memory of Mrs. Ewart
Taylor and Mr. Harry Hackett, who
had passed away during the year.
Joan and Lori Hackett entertain-
ed the guests with musical
selections on the guitar and
accordian, , which were greatly
appreciated. Mrs. Vernon Hunter,
Mrs. Ken Laidlaw and Jim
Drennan presented a short skit.

J. C. Drennan will be president
for 1978. A special committee was
added to the executive for planning
the 30th reunion in 1978.

Picnic Meeting
Dungannon Branch of the Wom-
en's Institute was held at 2 p.m.
July 6 at the home of Mrs. Chester
Finnigan with the Branch Directors
in charge of a picnic. The heat and
the rumbling thunder did not
interfere with the fun for 13
members present. The opening
contest was guessing whose name
was pinned across you shoulders -
from Queen Elizabeth, Helen
Keller etc. to Charlie Brown. Mrs.
George Errington was in charge of
this contest.

the meeting using the Ode and
Mary Stewart Collect. The secret-
ary treasurer, Mrs. Harry Girvin,
read the financial report. $380.00
was realized on the quilt and
afghan draw. Two awards were
given by W.I. to two students at
Brookside School, and Mrs. Black
expressed her pleasure at present-
ing these. Mrs. Warren Zinn, a
W.I. member, was donor of two
other awards to pupils. Mrs. Jack
Clements submitted her resigna-
tion as 1st vice president, and Mrs.
George Errington has been asked
to move from 2nd vice to fill this
office.
