WEDNESDAY, JULY 6, 1977 THE LUCKNOW SENTINEL, LUCKNOW; ONTARIO PAGE SIXTEEN Honour Parents 25th Anniversary WHITECHURCH NEWS On Thursday evening Kathy, Lorie and Kendra Purdon held a 25th wedding celebration in White- church Community Memorial Hall to honour their parents Mr. and Mrs. Archie Purdon. The evening was spent in dancing to music -by Tiffin's Orchestra. A large crowd of friends and relatives from Listowel, Brantford, Brampton, London, El- ora, Fergus, and Elmira were present. Among them being her mother Mrs. Webster Jacklin of Listowel and uncle, and his mother, Mrs. Hazel Purdon of Lucknow. Mr. and Mrs.' Purdon received many gifts and cards with money. A smorgasbord lunch was served after which Mr. and Mrs. Purdon thanked the crowd for honouring them with their attendance, gifts and cards of best wishes. Mrs. Garnet Farrier spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Davis and Dana of Windsor. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tiffin, Mrs. Bessie Mulliss and Wilford Clip- perton attended CKNX Barn Dance at Mount Forest. Miss Lorie Purdon is employed for the summer months at Camp Keewaydin at the end of the 12th of Ashfield. On tirtday, July 10 the sacra- ment of bap ism will be held at Claimer' s PreSbyterian Church. Mrs. John Gaunt on Tuesday evening attended a grandmother's shower for Miss Janet Gaunt, bride to be of July 23, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gaunt, at her home at Centralia. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gaunt of Centralia were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Don Ross and family. On the weekend Mr. and Mrs. John Jamieson and family enter- tained fiiends with whom he works in Sarnia. Miss Vickie Scott visited last week with her sister, Mrs. Inglis, Mr. Inglis and Michelle of Bel- more. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Purdon were on a few days tour last week, which took them as far north as North Bay. Bob and Alex Mowbray on Friday attended the Highland Games at Embro. This community since the middle of June , has had two of their former residents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Conn and Mrs. Earl Caslick move to Wingham. We will miss these folks and their assistance in community activities. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Kikkert and family have purchased the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Conn and the home of Mrs. Caslick is up for sale. Communion services were held at Chalmer's Church on Sunday with Rev. B. Kay in charge.f, After spending a week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Conn, on Saturday Mr. and Mrs. George Conn and family returned to Sherbrooke. We are pleased to report that Mrs. Earl Caslick was able to leave Wingham Hospital on Tuesday last and gO to her apartment in Wingham. Mr. and Mrs. Herb. Hunter and Trevor were weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Mac Armstrong and Elaine of CulrosS. Quite a few from this community attended the sale at Mervyn Pipe's of the Brussels, area. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Craig, Lana and Ryan spent the weekend at Niagara Fal:s and baby Gerard 'spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. George Webster. We are sorry to report that Dalton Schultz is again a patient in Wingham Hospital.
