Developing Trails
At Hullet Park
Luise' Hermanutz and Sandra
Finlay are involved with planning
and maintaining nature trails at the
Hullett Wildlife Management Ar-
ea, for the Ministry .of Natural
Resources, under the supervision
of Rene Jones.
These girls clean up the existing
trails, and ensure the trails are
easy to follow by making signs,
clipping branches, etc. Sandra and
Luise are also in the process of
planning new trails. They have to
survey the .bush, identifying the
points of interest, marking and
clearing, the new trails. These
trails are being developed for the
"enjoyment, relaxation, stimula-
tion and education", for visitors.
Luise and Sandra are setting the
trails up in loop systems. The loop
systems allow families to take long
or -short walks, depending on the
children's ages, so they can enjoy
the trail.
Pamphlets have been prepared
for the nature enthusiast, photo-
grapher or cross country skier.
Each trail has a separate pamphlet
who helps
small businesses
help themselves.
ogy. She plans to study Animal
Health Technology.
Sandra and Luise suggest, all
hikers come prepared; wear long
pants, shoes; and use insect
repellant.
