Lucknow School Band played a
concert at Harbour Park in
Goderich on Sunday, their third
annual visit there. The concert was
preceded by a "family picnic" by
band members and their families
and friends.,,
THAT
Kinloss Township Council are
good 'sports, but enough is enough.
In last week's Sentinel we had
them donating $7500. to the slow
pitch softball team. Actually, the
sum was $75.00 and we apologize
for the misprint. We also express
regrets to the slow pitch softball
t6arn who were packing their bags
for Europe when they heard of the
mistake.
THAT
Lucknow Fire Department res-
ponded to a call on Saturday
afternoon to the town dump where
some refuse was burning out of
control. Firemen, who had just run
in the Bed Race 9n main street as
part of Kin Summerfest, had a call
Friday evening, when the race was
still on, which sent them running to
the fire hall. It was a false alarm.

Lucknow ,Central Public School on
Monday of last week.
The introductory prograrri in-

Rosemary de Boer; words of
welcome by principal Stuart Colly-
er; singing by the two grade eight
classes; a trio. by Marilynne
Machitkee, Lynne Hilverda and
Rob Henderson; a quiz and musical
presentation; a piano solo by
Rosemary de Boer; dialogue by
Bonnie Clark and Murray Gilchrist;
solo by Rob Henderson.
The valedictory address was
given by Lynne Hilvetda of
Lucknow.
Athlete award winners were:
junior girls -hampion, Tracy Mc-,
Donagh; junior boys, Tim Ward;
intermediate girls, Heather Stan-
ley; intermediate boys, Kevin
Lindsay; senior girls, ) Sandra
Smith, Michele Edwards; senior
boys, Donnie Carter, Rob Hender-
son.
The band proficiency award went
to Marilynne Maclntyre with the
Nicolson memorial music. award to
Paul Finlay. Alec Purves was
awarded a week at band camp .by
the band.
The girls general proficiency
award was won by Lynne Hilverda
with the boys. award going to
Richard Moore.
Kenny Irwin won the junior
public speaking award with Judy
de Boer winning the senior public
speaking.
Marilynne Maclntyre expressed
thanks to grade 7 mothers for
assisting with the lunch which
followed.
God Save, the Queen, accompan-
ied by Mary Ann Ritchie, closed
the evening's program.

Twelve students from Canada
are included in the 1,155 on the
dean's list of Bob Jones University,
Greenville, , South Carolina and
earned at least a B average during
the second semester.
Bob Jones University, known as
