Enjoy Bus Trip
On Tuesday, June 21st, mem-
bers of the Lucknow Women's
Institute, their husbands and
friends, numbering 40, enjoyed a
bus trip to Bramalea and Oshawa.
At Bramalea they visited the
Sara Lee Kitchens, touring the
plant where cakes and Danish rolls
were being baked: All emerged
with at least one Sara Lee orange
cake. They journeyed on to
Oshawa and enjoyed noon lunch in
the picnic park.
In the afternoon they visited
"Parkwood", the Estate of the late.
Col. and Mrs. R. S. McLaughlin,
viewing their beautiful rose gard-
ens, the Italian garden and the
greenhouse complex.
Conducted tours through the
interior of Parkwood gave a rare
insight into the gracious living
which the McLaughlins enjoyed in
their 55 room residence, furnished
with priceless antiques from all
over the world. • •
The group visited the Oshawa
Plaza for a short shopping spree,
then returned to the Amber Cupola
Restaurant at Guelph for the
evening meal.
Cecil Garniss was the very
capable and courteous bus driver.
