Miss Lynn Culbert of Clinton and
Mel Yates of Thunder Bay visited
on the weekend with Lynn's
parents, 'Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
Culbert and with Mr. and Mrs. Ken
Ohm and- family. Lynn was lucky
enough to win $200 at bingo at the
Legion Hall in Clinton last week.
Miss Debbie Vella spent Sunday
with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and
Mrs. Worthy McNee and family at
Westfield'.
Mr. and Mrs. John Stanbury and
Gerry Bere visited Mrs. Mary Bete
and Jamie on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice McCorm-
ick of Ludington, Michigan called
on Mr. and Mrs. Graham McNee
on Sunday. Mr. McCormick's
grandfather, John Worthy, was a
brother of Mrs. NcNee's grand-
father, William Worthy,- but the
McCormicks and McNees had
never met before.
Valerie Shackleton of Dun-
gannon and. Wanda Stokes of
Teeswater motored to West
Virginia during weekend in
May. Valerie has just recently
opened a hair dressing salon in
Hanover.
Several/boys from here particip-
ated in the Bikeathon sponsored by
Lucknow and District Minor Hock-
ey on Saturday.
DIPLOMA. PRESENTED
The Dungannon Agricultural
Society held its June meeting on
Wednesday, May 25 in the
Agricultural Hall. The president
acknowledged the appreciation of
the society to the ladies for their
work in cleaning and waxing the
-hall floor. Special appreciation was
mentioned for Rod McKenzie who
supplied the floor polisher and his
time. Joanne Sproul was presented
with an Agricultural Diploma for
her former services as secretary-
treasurer. Paul Eedy offered to
form a bee to get the fence around
the race track painted. Any
interested volunteers should con-
tact Paul. Plans were discussed for
a ball game to be held on the
evening of June 17 between the
Agricultural Society team and the
CKNX Try-Hards. A decision was
made to hold a dance on September
23rd to finish off the Dungannon
Fall Fair.

Mrs. M. E. Sherwin of Brandon,
Manitoba, visited with her brother
Walter and Mrs. Alton, Havelock
Street, Lucknow on Sunday, also
Mr. and Mrs. Russel Alton of
Goderich accompanied her.
Mrs, Fred McQuillin of R. R.
1 Lucknow attended the 8th
convocation of Wilfred Laurier
University, at Kitchener Mem-
orial Auditorium on Sunday,
May 29th when her elder son,
Ivan McQuillin, received his
diploma in Business Administ-
ration. Mrs. McQuillin remain-
ed for a visit with the family.
Mrs. John Emerson of Pine
Lodge Rest Home, Lucknow, spent
the weekend with her brother Isaac
Nixon of Belfast.
The Lucknow Wornen's Institute
will hold their regular meeting in
the Assembly, Room /of the town
hall Tuesday, June 14th at 1 p.m.
Visitors last weekend with Mr.
and Mrs. Oliver Glenn of Lucknow
were Mrs. Ken Hoffman of
Toronto, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Adams and Qawne of Whitechurch
and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond
Adams, Stephany and Trevor of
Kitchener.
John Nixon and Steven of
Belgrave spent Thursday with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Nixon,
Belfast.
Mr. and Mrs. Evans Helm, Mr.
and Mrs. Jim Morrison, Mr. and
Mrs. Barry Hackett, Mr. and Mrs.
Brian Johnston and Mr. and Mrs.
Tony Johnstone, representing the
Lucknow, and District Kinsmen and
Kinettes, attended the Wingham
Kinsmen and Kinette installation
and, life membership night for Mac
Ritchie held in the Wingham
Legion Hall last Friday night. Mac
was chairman for the chartering of
the Lucknow club. Present were the
Kinsmen National president, Dist-
rict 1 Governor, Deputy Governor
and Kinette convener, as well as
other guests from area clubs.

RETIREMENT PARTY
A Retirement Party was held at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dave
MacKinnon for Fraser MacKinnon.
Fraser was clerk of the township for
several years. He received, as a
gift, an office chair.
Murray Keith is visiting with
relatives in Winnipeg and Virden,
Manitoba.
Anniversary for South Kinloss
Church will be. held on Sunday,
June 12 with services being at
eleven and seven-thirty O'clock.
Guest minister is Rev. Campbell of
Tara.

FIELD DAY
Friday, June 3 the Ripley-Huron
Central School had a field day with
races, high jumping, triple jump,
long jump, and ball throw.
