DUNGANNON NEWS
The annual Church and Sunday
School picnic for Dungannon-Nile
United Churches was held at
Menesetung Camp on Sunday with
about 85 in attendance. Rev. 1-h G.
Dobson spoke on Holiday a short
form of Holy Day. Mrs. Allan
Webster played the piano.

Variety Concert
WHITECHURCH NEWS
On Friday evening, June 3
Whitechurch Women's Institute
held a Variety Concert in
Whitechurch Community Mem-
orial Hall. The president, Mrs.
Russel McGuire, was master of
ceremonies and extended a
warm welcome to all and
explained what would be done
with the money.
The singing of 0 Canada
opened the concert. The girls
choir, Janet Laidlaw, Vicki
Scott, Clara Milligan, Lisa and
Tammy Stone, Dawn Adams,
Donna Thompson, Nancy and
Karen Quipp sang "Do Re Mi"
and "Down By The Riverside"
with Mrs. Garnet Farrier,
pianist.
Sandra Currie gave piano
instrumentals; Mrs. Ronald For-
ster gave a reading, The New
Minister's Wife" and "Carol
Burnette, Roller Skating"; Ted
Elliott .of Brussels did step
dancing numbers; Dawn Bram-
hill, Janice Quanz of Palmer-
ston, Ronnie and Kenneth Vines
of Kurtzville gave numbers with

Janet Laidlaw, Mrs. Rena
Fisher, Mrs. Russel McGuire
and Mrs. Garnet Farrier.
The orchestra of Mrs. Jean
Conley . with banjo, Elroy
Laidlaw with violin and Mrs.
Joann Ducharme pianist, fav-
oured with, Before the Next
Tear Drop Falls and Soldiers
Joy. Laverne Bramhill of
Palmerston, accompanying him-
self on the guitar, sang Mothers
Goodbye, Courting on 50 Cents,
and encores, The Boy and the
Railroad. and Life is Like a
Mountain Railroad. Jack Whyt-
ock gave a violin number
accompanied by Mrs. Farrier.
The adult choir, Jim Wilson,
Gordon ' Leggatt., Russel Mc-
Guire, Mrs. Don Ross, Mary
Hehn, Mrs. Ivan Laidlaw, Mrs.
Lorne Durnin, Mrs. Rena Fish-
er, Mrs. Garnet Farrier, Mrs.
Wardrop and Mrs. Ron Forster
sang I'd Like to Teach the World
to Sing in Perfect Harmony and
The Old Lamplighter. Mrs.
George Kennedy gave the
reading Maggie and Jiggs
Going to Heaven; Mrs. Jim
Nesbitt gave a piano instru-
mental; two of the quartette put
on a humorous number entitled,
The Whistler.
All were thanked for their
part in the program and the
. audience for attending. The
singing of the Queen closed the
concert. Lunch was served to
those on the program.
