Twenty-one members answered the roll, called by Mrs. Betty Doherty. 'Correspondence read by Dolores VanOsch included thank you notes from Goderich and District Pro Life, Help Honduras Foundation, Fr. Dentinger and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Courtney. Dolores mentioned that 194 signatures had been signed to the letter to Prime Minister Trudeau, protesting the proposed Women's clinics. Mrs. Mary Clare presented the treasurer's report. In her pro-life report Mrs. Teresa Cotatney mentioned the Festival of Life being held in Ottawa and Adrian Keet's great walk to Ottawa from Wingham, a distance of 325 miles. Teresa and Mrs. Grace Austin attended.the south western pro-life- conference held in Stratford in April. Kincardine now has a Right To Life group with Mr. Dave Zyluk as president. Upcoming events for Goderich Pro-Life include booths in Clinton and Goderich this summer, and a float in the Goderich Parade. Giving the Cultural Life report, Mrs. Rita Howard announced that a spring birthday part.), would soon be held for parishoners 75 years and over. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Kirkland visited Sunday with his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Olen Stobo of Tees- water. John Ritchie returned to his home from Wingham Hospital on Monday of this week. Mr. and Mrs. John Hunter• and family had his nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Menary and family, east of Dungannon, for Sunday supper. Mr. and Mrs. Russel Swan visited his father, Earl- Swan of Wiarton on Tuesday of last week. Don Bone of Toronto is spending this week at his summer home planting his garden. Trinity United Church, Ashfield, are having their church anniversary on Sunday with visiting minister,' Rev. Robert Putman of Pine River Church. There will be no Sunday School on this Sunday. Addolorota in Ghana (Mrs. Tony .Knoop's sister); Sr. Ardina VanDiyk (Mrs. John Van Rooy's sister); The Association of Religious Communicators; a dona- tion towards summer camp for a young parishoner; donation to the cemetery board; to Adrian Keet, Winghatti Voice For Life. President, Mrs. Marion Austin spoke of the diocesan convention beiqg held in Chatham May 10th and 11th. The theme is "Great Voice of God Cries out for the fullness of Life". A motion was made that a resolution be present- ed at , the convention regarding the - proposed establishment of wom- en's clinics by the government. Convenerships have been set up as follows: organization, Mrs. Betty Doherty; church life, Mrs. Bernadette Smith, Mrs. Anne Berry; communication and public relations, Mrs. Clarice Dalton; cultural life, Mrs. Tina Van Diepan, Mrs. Paulette Helsic; pro-life convener, Mrs. Teresa Courtney; sending cards, Mrs. Irene Gilmore; catering committee, Mrs. Mary Clare, Mrs. Marie Miltenburg, Mrs. Tina Van Diep- an, Mrs. Betty Frayne, Mrs. Jean Van Rooy and Mrs. Clarice Dalton. Mrs. Marie . Miltenburg . and Mrs. Clarice Dalton will be serving lunch for the first communicants, in the church hall after 10.30 mass Sunday, May 8th. Mrs. Betty Frayne reported that the cancer campaign was progressing well. John Gilmore donated ,a relic of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton to the league, to be used by the sick of the parish. Father Dentinger has , purchased forty -copies of the book "Death Before Birth". These are available to anyone wishing to learn more about the abortion issue. Father also donated a number of them to Goderich Pro-Life. Installation of the new C.W.L. officers is to be held after first Friday Mass. The meeting was closed with prayer and lunch followed.
