WEDNESDAY, MAY 18, 1977 KINGSBRIDGE INJURED IN FARM ACCIDENT Eugene Frayne had part of his ring finger on the right hand taken off by the fertilizer auger while applying fertilizer to the corn ground on Saturday, May 14th. He was treated at the Emergency, Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich and later released. SUFFERS FRACTURED ANKLE Miss Anne VanDiepenbeek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank VanDiepenbeek had her ankle broken in three places on Sunday, May 15 when the horse she was riding backed up pinning her ankle between the horse and a tree. She had a cast applied at the Wingham and District Hospital and later transferred to the University Hosp- ital in London where she will be confined for at least a week. Mr. and Mrs. Danny Frayne of Cambridge, Galt visited with his parents„ Mr. and Mrs,, Eugene- Frayne and family on Sunday afternoon, May 15. Mr. ,Mark Lalonde has returned from a two week visit to the Western Provinces. He attended the wedding and reception for his cousin Miss Ann Dalton to Mr. Bruce Pritchard on Saturday, May 14. A bridal shower for Miss Rita Knoop is being planned to be held in the Kingsbridge Parish Hall on Sunday, May 22 at 8 p.m. Her marriage to Mr. • Allan Harris of Toronto will be on Saturday, June 11 in St. Joseph's Church at Kings- bridge. Miss Nellie Knoop of Toronto spent the weekend at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Knoop and family. MUSIC FESTIVAL At press time last week I was unable to contact Mrs. Lillian Simpson to obtain the results of the Senior pupils who had participated in the Kiwanis Music Festival at Stratford, from the Kingsbridge school. Lisa Frayne and Heather Stapleton received an 80 mark in the duet class, eleven years and under, in a class of 9. Stephen Frayne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Frayne received a mark of 82 for changed voices, in a class of. seven. Heather Stapleton, daught- er of Mr. and Mrs: Neil Stapleton received 83 marks and Lisa Frayne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Frayne received 79 in a class of eleven. Miss Marianne Frayne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Frayne, received second prize in the eighteen years and under class with a mark of 83. These young people made a very commendable showing and it was their first year at the Kiwanis. Keep up this good work; Mrs. Lillian Simpson attended the music festival on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with the pupils and upon finishing up the classes on Friday, accompanied Mrs. Jean Carruthers, Julia and Andrew to Niagara Falls where they visited with Mrs. Carruthers' son John who teaches school in that city. Mrs. Simpson also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Carney of Lewiston, New York and Mrs. Tina MacGregor and Agnes, who are cousins of the Simpson families, and also attended a dinner party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe O'Neill of Lewiston, New York and a bridal shower for Miss Holly Gallie in honour of her forthcoming marriage to Mr. John Carruthers. They also called on Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Lougheed, who is a niece of the two ladies. Miss Flora Simpson, daughter of Mrs. Lillian Simpson, has returned home after finishing her first year at Victoria College, University of Toronto. She is employed for the summer at Point Farms Provincial Park by the Department of Natural Resources. Mrs. Eugene Frayne visited on the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Albert Kraemer in Hesson. Miss Fay Hogan of Owen Sound spent the weekend at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Con Hogan. Congratulations to Ann Marie Dalton, daughter of Mrs. Mark Dalton, R. R. 3 Goderich and to Bruce Pritchard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Pritchard of Mississauga, who were married by the Reverend Father Ed Dentinger, C.R. in St.' Joseph's Church, Kingsbridge on Saturday, May 14 at 3 p.m. The bride was given in marriage by her godfather, Mr. Joseph O'Brien. Maid of honour was Miss DeniSe Dalton, sister of the bride. Brides- maids were Mrs. Barbara Beck, sister of the groom and Bridget, Jackie and Maria Dalton, all sisters of the bride. The best man was Christopher Graham. Ushers were Al Beck, Jerry Bowland and Paul Dalton. Shawn Dalton did the readinis and -the Offeriiii—Was- taken up by Mr. and Mrs. Peter (Louise Dalton) Martin and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie (Maureen Dalton) Chilton. The organist and soloists were Miss Matianne Frayne and Mr. Eugene Frayne. Following their marriage a buffet dinner was served to approximately 65 guests at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Clarice Dalton, R. R. 3 Goderich, followed by dancing. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Durnin, Shawn, Darrell and Lisa attended the wedding of Ron's brother, Jim Durnin to Bonnie Mugford in the Knox Presbyterian Church at Goderich on Saturday, May 14 at 3 p.m. Ron and Shawn took part in the wedding. Ron warms' an usher and Shawn a junior attendant. The dinner and. reception was held at the Legion. Hall,, Goderich. CENTRALIA GRADUATE Congratulations to Lawrence Hogan who graduated' from the Agriculture Business Management two year course at the Centralia. College of Agriculture and Tech- nology, Huron Park. Graduation exercises held on Friday afternoon, May 13 were attended by his parents Mr. and Mrs. John Howard -and-LMiss Mariantre-Frayne.---- C.W.L.
