KINGSBRIDGE
Congratulations to Joanne Hick-
ey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Hickey and to Joe Phelan of Blyth,
who were married by the Reverend
Father Ed Dentinger, C.R. in the
St.' Augustine Roman Catholic
Church on Friday evening, April
29. Several from this area attended
the wedding reception held in the
Blyth Community Centre with
music for dancing supplied by the
Bluewater Playboys.
Sincere sympathy is extended to
the family and friends of the late
Muriel Farrish, who passed away
suddenly on Saturday, April 30th at
her late residence, 103 Waterloo
Street, Goderich in her 60th year.
Her body rested at the, Stiles
Funeral Chapel, Goderich where
funeral service was held on
Monday afternoon, May 2nd at 3
p.m. Interment was in the
Greenhill Cemet ery_,__Lucknow_
Mrs. Jack VanOsch suffered a
slight stroke while she and Mr.
VanOsch visited with their daught-
er Dora and son-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Maurice ' Schuurmans in
London. Mrs. VanOsch was
admitted to the Wingham and
District Hospital on Thursday,
April 28. We wish her a speedy
recovery.
Ralph Austin, who has been
holidaying at the home of his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Austin
and family, and John Henderson,
who has' been holidaying at the
home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Jim Henderson of Lucknow since
Good Friday, April 8th returned to
Calgary, Alberta on Sunday, May
1st. They were accompanied"by
Mark Lalonde of Kingsbridge, Leo
Redmond of St. Augustine, and
Reinhardt Boelmle of Auburn.
Sister M. Gilbert Bethany,
Antigonish, Nova Scotia and Mr.
and Mrs. Dan Weiss of Formosa,
Ontario visited on Thursday, April
28th with Brother Carl Voll.
Mr. Art Dalton and son Brian of
Hamilton visited on the weekend
with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Courtney
and family.
Several parent's and students
from this area attended the
Goderich and District High School
Formal held on Friday, April 29th
at the school. Congratulations to'
Miss Judy Cruickshank of Goder-
ich, who was chosen school Queen.
Other contestants were Marianne
Frayne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Eugene Frayne of Kingsbridge,
Mary Burns, Lori Keller and Cathy
Reynolds, all from Goderich.
A good crowd attended the dance
sponsored by the Kingsbridge
Youth Club and held » in the
Kingsbridge school gymnasium on
Saturday evening, April 30. Music
for dancing was provided by disc
jockey, Brian. Elmslie of C.K.N.X.
Wingham. The winner of the door
prize was principal David Zyluk,
who shared this prize with the
Grade 8 students.

strike at midnight Wednesday,

ery, is proceeding satisfactorily.

ium in Wingham Thursday even-
ing, April 28. Choirs taking part

MUSIC FESTIVAL
Pupils from St. Joseph's School
at Kingsbridge have been active
this past week at the 50th annual
Stratford Music Festival held at St.
John's Church, Stratfcird. Christine
Stapleton won first prize in the
girl' -under);
Dennis Foran won first prize in the
boy's solo (7 years and under with
Paul VanRooy winning second
prize in this same class. Maureen
Stapleton and Angela Foran won
'third prizes in the girl's solo class 8
years and under. Congratulations.
Casey Hendriks has the school
Monopoly Tournament ready to go

The Family Care Workers held
the April 21 meeting at Clinton
Hospital Board Rooms with an
increased enrollment.
The Agency was talked about.
The speaker for the evening was
Dr. Mowbray of Wingham who
explained some of the different
cancers and ways to arrest it and
also answered many questions. The
next meeting will be held May 19.
