The Ladies 6.30 Bowling League
held their annual banquet and
social evening at the Anglican
Parish Hall .at 7 p.m.,' Monday,
April 25th. A delicious beef dinner
was enjoyed by all the ladies.
The tables were decorated with
novelty place cards and centrepiec-
es made by each team and some
small gifts placed at each setting.
Mary Cleland thanked the ladies of
the church for the delicious meal.
A short business meeting was
held with past president Jessie
Joynt presiding.. The treasurer's
report was read by Pat Livingston.
Nominations , were held for new
officers for the 1977-78 bowling
season. Officers are as follows:
president, Bernice Kemp; vice
president, Pat Livingston; treasur-
er, Joyce Adamson; secretary,
Isobel Miller. '
The presentation of trophies and
gifts was conducted by, past
vice-president, Bernice Kemp with
Pat Livingston and Donna Stauble
assisting.
The Bud Hamilton trophy was
presented by Bernice Kemp to the
captain of the Jacks, Kathleen
MacDonald, winner of the regular
seasons bowling. She also present-
ed trophies to the team members
Kathleen MacDonald, Pat Living-
ston, Cora Thompson, Ena Hend-
erson, Isobel Miller, Rena Mc-
Nabb, Thelma Brown, Greta John-
son and Helen Riegling. Kathleen
made a fitting reply with a poem.
Fern MacDonald won the high
single with 296, high triple with
720, and high average with 184, for
the season and was presented with
a lamp and poem by Ena Hender-
son. The most improved bowler
was Gladys Moffat; 11 points above
last years average and was
presented with a trophy by Joan
Robinson.
For the season the high single
with handicap was won by Edna
Ross with 352 and she was
presented with a trophy by Anne
Riegling. The high triple with
handicap was won by Kathleen
MacDonald with 876, and was
presented with a trophy by Joyce
Adamson.
The high team of the playoffs
was the Deuces and were present-
ed with trophies by Pat Livingston.
