Councillors Ab Murray and Bill
Cruinp suggested it was time to let
bygones be bygones and deal with
the problem from the beginning.
Referring to the discussion of Mr.
Joynt and chairman Murray in the
hallway while the meeting was
in progress last year, Councillor
Crump said "Matters of this nature
should not be discussed in private
meetings , in the hallway, they
should be worked out at the council
table and a presentation should be
made to Maitland Valley on
paper". Councillor ,Crump is the
new Lucknow appointee to the
Maitland Authority.

Lucknow Fire Department an-
swered two calls this past week.
Saturday afternoon, a grass fire
was extinguished east of Grant
Chisholm's residence, a mile south
of Lucknow. On Tuesday of last
week, a false alarm took firemen
about 5 miles west on 86 highway
before, being overtaken. by the fire
Car and flagged down to return to
town.
THAT
Winners of the Grand Opening
draws at Loree's Ladies' Wear
were Mrs. Steven Hackett of
Lucknow, a $25.00 voucher for
merchandise and Mrs. Ross Irwin
of Lucknow, a $15.00, voucher for
merchandise. The draw was made
Saturday by Mrs. Virdin Mowbray
of Lucknow.
THAT
Chester Nicholson of Belfast had
a $100 winner and a $25 winner in
the same book of Wintario tickets
last week. In the , same family, his
son-in-law Tony Johnstone of
Lucknow won $25, being a winner
for the third draw in a row. Another
$25 winner was Allan Johnston, R.
R. 3 Goderich, in the March 31
draw.
'Passes Following
lengihy Illness
MRS. OTTO LUEDEMANN
Mrs. Otto Luedemann passed
away at Wingham and District
Hospital on Saturday, April 9th.
She was 61.
She was the former Magdalena
Drews, daughter of Karl and Elsa
Drewsand was born in Germany on
February 2, 1916. Her first
husband Heinrich Lembke lost his
life during World War H.
She married Otto Luedemann in
Germany and they came out to
Canada in 1968. Except for a very
short time at Kitchener they have
been residents of Ashfield, where
Mr. Luedemann passed away in
March 1973.
The late Mrs. Luedemann suffer-
ed from multiple schlerosis for
some twenty years and the past 3 1/2
years she had been a resident at
Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home,
Lucknow.
She is survived by two sons Gerd
Luedemann of Ashfield Township,
and Otto Lembke in Germany; also
2 grandchildren in Ashfield and 2
grandchildren in Germany.
The funeral service was held on
Sunday, April 10th at Kingdom
Hall, Wingham. The deceased was
a member of Jehovah's Witnesses
and Mr. Grant Gollan conducted
the service.
Pallbearers were Dave Moore of
Wingham; Karl Lohse of Port
Albert, Walter Gruendler of Goder-
ich, Barry Gollan of Lucknow, Len
Geddes of Wingham, Don Fisher of
Belgrave:
Temporary entombment was at
South Kinloss Mausoleum. Mac-
Kenzie Funeral Home, Lucknow
was in charge of funeral arrange-
ments.

SOUTH KINLOSS Honour Couple
SHARED INTERESTING TRIP
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Houston were
hosts to frierids on Saturday
evening when Doug Eadie showed
the films of his trip through
Thailand, India, Burma, Laos and
Afganistan. Doug and his friend
Art Stanley spent over a year
touring these countries, Australia
and New Zealand. The films
showed a very interesting trip.
Mr. and Mrs. Ron 1VlacGillivray
and family of Elmira visited with
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Buckmeier and
Carol on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Needham
have returned to their home on the
fourth again after spending the
winter at their home in Vero Beach,
Florida.
.Sunday visitors with Mr: and
Mrs. Evan Keith were Mr. and
Mrs. Neil McAllister and family of
Chesley.
Dave Eadie and Connie MacKen-
zie attended the wedding of Doris
Cuylle and Robert Smith of
Woodstock on Saturday.
Rev. R. C. McCallum of Goder-
ich was guest minister on Sunday .

40th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Philip Steer of
Kinloss were honoured 'on their
40th wedding anniversary with a
family gathering at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Don Bell, Wayne and
Beverley of Kinloss on Sunday,
April 17th.
Present for the happy occasion
were Mr. and Mrs. Eon Wallace.
Susan and Nancy; Mr. and Mrs.
Peter Steer, Tracey and Heather;
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Woodley,
Valerie, Vickie, and David Evans,
all of London. Matt Woodley, the
eldest grandson, is touring Europe
at the present time. Family friends
present were Mr. and Mrs. Peter
Cook, Mrs. Harold Austin, of
Lucknow; Mr. and Mrs. Ted
Collyer, Mr. and Mrs. Ernie
Hanna, Lois and David of Kinloss
Township, Mrs. Yil Gallaher of
Gorrie.
After a delicious smorgasbord
lunch, the hononred couple were
toasted, and presented with lovely
gifts. A rousing ball game was
then enjoyed, with the more active
members of the group participat-
ing.
