93rd Year
JOSEPH LEVI WALL
Joseph Wall passed away in the
Wingham and District Hospital on
Tuesday, April 12th, in his 93rd
year.
Joe, as he was well and
favourable known to his relativeS
and friends, was a son of the late
Edward Wall and Margaret Smith
and was born in Kincardine
Township on August 22nd, 1884.
He married Ida James, daughter
of the late. Mr. and Mrs. William
James and they farmed on conces-
sion 14 Kinloss for a number of
years before retiring to Lucknow.
He was a faithful member of
Kinlough Anglican Church , and
later St. Peter's Church, Lucknow.
Being of a friendly disposition, he
enjoyed meeting with friends and
neighbours. His wife Ida passed
away. in November "1956: He
remained in his Lucknow home
until 5 years ago when he came to
reside with his nephew, Spence
McFarlan. He was predeceased by
his sister Mary (Mrs. Archie
McFarlan) and two brothers John
and William Wall.
The remains rested at the
MacKenzie Memorial. Chapel,
Lucknow, until Thursday afternoon
when the funeral service was
conducted' at 3.30 p.m. by Rev. J.
R. King, owing to Rev. Garratt's
illness. The burial was in
Kincardine Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Arthur Gra-
ham, Charles McQuillin, Don
Gillespie, Tom McFarlan, John
Hodgins, William Haldenby.
Flower bearers were relatives of
his late wife. He is survived by
nieces and nephews.
Sleepyheads
The fourth meeting of the St.
Helens Sleepyheads was held in
the St. Helens Hall on April 12 at
7.00. The meeting was opened with
the 4-H pledge. The roll call
"Name and show the types of
seams used on your leisurewear",
was answered by six members.
We were shown by Mrs.
Errington how and where to apply
"Applied Casings". Barb Aitchi-
son then demonstrated the slip
stitch.
The next meeting will be in St.
Helens Hall on April 20 at 7.00.
The meeting closed with the 4-H
creed.
Trinity 2
Trinity 2 4-H club held their 5th
meeting at the home of Barb
Hackett April 12th at 7.00 p.m. We
opened the meeting by repeating
the 4-H pledge. The toil call was
answered by 5 members.
Mrs. Dona Campbell discussed
facing and under stitching, casing
with elastic, trims and direct
application of lace eyelet. Mrs.
Campbell also demonstrated the
above topics.
Everyone participated in plans
for Achievement Day. We went
over evaluating garments. Score
for judging, fabric seams and
trims, also what we will do for an
exhibit, and a fashion show.
Trinity 1
Trinity I 4-H club held their 4th
meeting at the home of Mrs. Herb
Wilkins on April 12 at 7.00 p.m.
The members repeated the 4-H
pledge. The members answered
their roll call and Home Assign-
ments. Patty Barger read the
minutes of the last meeting. The
next meeting will be held at the
home of Mrs. Charles Wilkins,
April 26 at 7.00 p.m.
Mrs. Herb Wilkins demonstrated
and discussed trims, binding,
braid, fringe. Mrs. Charles Wilkins
demonstrated and discussed the
enclosed application of lace and
eyelet. The members worked on
their garments until;the closing of
the meeting.
Lounging Angels
The sixth 4-H meeting of the
Dungannon Lounging Angels club
was opened with the pledge. The
minutes of the last meeting were
read by Marilyn Sproul. This weeks
,press reporter is Kathy Robson.
The roll call was answered,by
showing the type of trim or finis to
be used on the garment and the
method of putting on. Covers for
the books were giVen out. Discus-
sion was held on what the 4-H
Achievementl Day exhibit would be.
Everyone was shown how to make a
slip stitch hem and button shank.
The next meeting will be on April
19 at 7 p.m. at the home of Mrs.
Jean Errington.

Is Annual Eveni
Lucknow Agricultural Society
presented its annual Spring Variety
Concert on Friday evening in the
Lucknow Public School.
Russel Irvin, president of the
Society, was master of ceremonies
for the evening and welcomed
everyone.
Vocal numbers were by Clarke
Johnston of Belgrave; Lavonne
Ballagh, accompanied by Elaine
Nixon, both of Winghatn; Steve
Pritchard; accompanied by his
mother Mrs. Tom Pritchard, both
of Lucknow; Lucille Frayne, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald. Frayne
of Kingsbridge who was accompan-
ied by Mrs. Tom Pritchard.
Dance numbers were given by
Kim, Craig of Blyth, tap dancer;
Lisa Frayne, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Eugene Frayne of Kings-
bridge, Irish Jig and Sailor's
Hornpipe; Tap dance group from
Ripley consisting of Linda Mac-
Donald, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Dan MacDonald, Kaye Walden,
daughter of Mr.. and Mrs. Ray
Walden, Janice Elliott, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Elliott, Lisa
Farrell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Stewart Farrell.
Teeswater United Church Junior
Choir sang some numbers featur-
ing their leader Bill Pike as soloist.
Mr. Pike accompanied the group on
guitar and the choir was led in song
by Mrs. Kay Smith.
Mr. and Mrs. Tony McQuail of
St. Helens presented a skit, "I'm
Herbert". Marty Cretier of Wing-
ham gave two humorous readings.
Directors of the Society and their
wives, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Wilkins,
Mr. and Mrs. Don Cameron and
Mr. and Mrs.- Robert Campbell
were the committee in charge of
the program
